Default Will Smith's New Movie Hitch

I saw previews for this movie when i went to see Ray with Jamie Foxx this past weekend. Will plays this dude who hooks the opposite sex up to date. What do u call people like his character? Eva Mendes & the fat dude that plays on The King Of Queens tv show are also in it. It looks funny.

Nobody saw Hitch? It's been making a lot of money at the box office. I might check it out cause Eva Mendes is in it & i think she's hot. I like the part when Will slaps the fat dude from King Of Queens tv show when he's dancing. Will says to him, don't ever do that again LOL.

Default "Hitch" Spotlights Fresh Will Power

From the Daily News:

Quote:
"Hitch" Spotlights Fresh Will Power

***

"HITCH".
With Will Smith, Eva Mendes, Kevin James.
Director: Andy Tennant (1:55).
PG-13: language, sexual references.

Will Smith has been successful at everything in his music and movie careers, and he now vaults onto Hollywood's A-list of romantic leading men with Andy Tennant's "Hitch."

We're all familiar with the easy charm that earned Smith the nickname Fresh Prince. But in his previous, mostly action films, he's been confined to using that suave coolness for repartee with tough guys, essentially playing James Bond in a world without women.

But in "Hitch," a romantic comedy about romance, he turns it on with co-star Eva Mendes in a manner that will have George Clooney taking notes.

Timed as a Valentine gift to moviegoing romantics, "Hitch" is an amiable goof on the contemporary dating scene in Manhattan, whose 8 million stories don't include nearly enough about fated lovers finding each other. Smith plays Alex Hitchens, a phenomenally successful dating counselor whose ability to help inept male singles connect with the would-be loves of their lives supports his penthouse lifestyle.

He researches the coveted women and coaches his clients on when and how to approach them, when and how to ask them out and when and how to go for the defining first kiss.

"Eight out of 10 women believe that the first kiss will tell them everything they need to know about a relationship," he says.

After a hilarious opening in which we follow three of Hitch's clients through the early courtship cycle, "Hitch" settles on the parallel romantic stories about his improbable effort to get a dorky, overweight accountant hooked up with a beautiful heiress, and his own budding relationship with New York Standard gossip columnist Sara Melas (Mendes).

(Since we see the Standard side-by-side with the Post, it must be a stand-in for the Daily News, which means Sara is based on our own ravishing Joanna Molloy.)

Sara is immune to male advances, having long ago deemed men incorrigible. But when Hitch spots her alone in an elegant watering hole and turns on the charm - his approach is to appear to be the ultimate anti-hustler - she begins to weaken.

In a plot twist that would break a mortal's spine, Hitch's romance with Sara and Albert's with Allegra Cole (Amber Valletta) overlap in a tangle of misunderstanding that threatens to derail both. The ending that follows will take every ounce of your Valentine's Day goodwill to swallow. Nonetheless, "Hitch" is the first Hollywood movie I'm recommending this year.

Kevin Bisch's script has an easy, fluid pace and some very funny comedy setups: Watching the frustrated Hitch trying to teach Albert how not to dance, in order to impress a lady, and how to go in for that first kiss, are hilarious.

James, a standup comic who's built like a Humvee, is obnoxiously over-the-top in the earliest scenes, but you quickly come to like him. And Mendes, an actress who bears a striking resemblance to Gina Gershon, exudes a relaxed, confident quality that works well in Sara's playfully romantic moments with Hitch.

But no mistake, "Hitch" belongs to Smith.

From the very opening, when Hitch begins explaining to the camera that love sometimes needs an outside assist to get started, he owns the audience. He has charisma and a great physical presence, and even with satellite-dish ears (remember Clark Gable?), he's damned handsome.

Things have been finally opening up for black actors, but Smith - if he chooses - may break through another ceiling, to become the first African-American leading man of color-blind Hollywood romance.

Eva Mendes is a hottie. That's why i wanna see it. Plus it looks funny. I'm not a fan of most of the movies Will does but i wanna see Hitch. Will, Eva, Kevin were on Oprah's show talkin about the movie. Will asked Oprah how come she doesn't have any kids & Oprah didn't say anything. So Will leaned over to her & kissed her. Then he winked at her & said call me LOL. Oprah said thanks Jada.
