I was always wondering: Is that her real first name, or was it shortened from "Karen" and then given its capital "R"?

I've never heard of that name before. I wonder where they got the idea to use the name from.

Wikipedia lists her as "Renee" and I've seen other sites list that as her name. However, I don't think that is ever given as her name in the series. I think someone just assuemd Ren had to be short for something and decided Renee made the most sense and somehow it spread. I think her name was just supposed to be Ren, not short for anything. If someone can give me a quote from an episode that proves me wrong, I'll be glad to hear it though (or read it, rather).
