Default Ashlee Simpson lip synching

Everyone is making such a big deal of it, but I'm wondering why. I personally don't see lip synching as what others do because even if she did, it was still her voice and thats all that matters. Some people don't sound as good live as others, so really i never understood why its such a big deal.

I'm scared one day I'll say,
"I don't love this anymore,"
Turn my back on all my fans...
Who's to think about?
The brighter I shine, the darker my shadows.
And they pull me behind, as I let off the pedal.
Why should I divide what feels so right?
Is this where I want to lay?

How do we know that it's really her voice? It could just be a computerized voice. I personally think that lip synching is terrible. It shows a total lack of respect for the fans who think they are getting a live performance when really, it's no different than listening to a CD.

Because preforming live is bringing your music to life and showing everyone your real talent. If you choose to lip synch then you're also choosing to lie to everyone who is listening to you, and let down all of your fans. And that isnt real music. Real music is something that the artist puts a lot of work and effort into because they care about all the people who are paying to go see their preformances and buy their records. Its pure laziness and disrespect.

I do agree that this incident was blown out of proportion, considering she wasnt actually lip synching. But I do think that any singer who decides to fake their live preformances are complete idiots and obviously dont give a **** about their music or their fans.

It's a big deal because as an entertainer you should really entertain. Be respectful to your fans. Meaning, actually sing the wordsif your so talented. Lip Synching to me is a mockery of my intelligence and it's wrong. Like I said, if your an entertainer be ginuwine (sp?).

I don't personnaly care for ashlee's music, so I don't feel particularily betrayed by the incident, I DO however feel that it is almost CRIMINAL for any artist to not actually perform live for fans that have to endure grossly over-inflated ticket prices...

Well, did you see her at the VMAs? It was obvious she was singing live-_-

I am a fan of Ashlee and like her music but I agree with what you say about the ticket prices. How much does Madonna and Britney Spears charge for 2 hours of a CD playing?

Artists and talented people are supposed to be able to do their stuff live. Baseball players don't get to follow a script, so to speak, when they come to bat. They don't get to have the pitcher serve one up to them. They have to perform. That means no matter what they have accomplished in the past, no matter how great their reputation is of being a great hitter, they have to show up and hit what is pitched to them. It's impressive to watch and hear a singer do their thing live. If they are not capable of performing up to the high level expected of professional artists than what is so special about them that the rest of us should pony up big bucks for?

Fans come to concerts and performances to watch the artists perform and let their talent show. It's a complete waste to listen to the CD again and watch them move their lips.

60 Minutes is doing a segment tonight on SNL and Ashlee's lip-synching incident.
