Default The Pros and Cons of Halloween

Pro: Cute kids in cute halloween costumes coming trick or treating at your door.
Con: Living in an upstairs apartment and watching the lazy kids and their equally lazy parents forgo your house after you bought six f*cking bags of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups.

Pro: Horror movie marathons on all the major channels that show all your favorite obscure B horror flicks.
Con: A) Those cheesy local cable access commercials finally pitched in an extra buck fifty for spooky special affects, making those goddamn commercials even lamer.

Pro: Thriller is on VH1 and the radio.
Con: A) As if we haven't seen enough of Michael Jackson in the last year B) It's depressing to remember when Michael Jackson was actually cute. C) Great, let's give Jay Leno more Michael Jackson material for his lame opening monologues.

Pro: Mischief night.
Con: Realizing you can now get arrested for the sh*t you used to do on mischief night and spending Halloween hauling bricks out of the backseat of your car from the hole in the back window.

Pro: Seeing how many couples show up at a party dressed as Bonnie and Clyde, Gomez and Morticia, or Peg and Al Bundy.
Con: Going as one of the 12 hoes your idiot boyfriend brought to the party to correspond with his pimp costume.

Pro: Saw
Con: The Grudge

Pro: Cool festivities such as hayrides and haunted houses.
Con: Paying $20 to see a bunch of plastics snakes and some loser dressed up as Michael Myers jump out from behind walls.

Pro: More horror movie chats with fellow horror movie fans.
Con: Hearing every bimbo I work with squeal over how much scarier the remake of Texas Chainsaw is than the original. Grrrrrrrrr!

Pro: Subtle, sexual indicative costumes.
Con: Being the 9,000 man to dress as a giant penis/condom and think it's funny.

Pro: Creative, time-consuming costumes that normally get you at least 3rd place in a contest.
Con: That one lazy f*ck at the party who slaps on cat ears and somehow gets first place.

Pro: Smashing pumpkins
Con: The term is no longer a verb followed by a noun courtesy of that f*cking band.

Pro: Only one more holiday until Christmas!
Con: Only one more f*cking holiday until Christmas.

I know Cathy, it's sad. It's not like it used to be. When I was a kid, back in the stone age, the streets were crowded with kids. Too many nuts out there today.

I've got a basket of KitKat, Reeses Peanut Butter Cups, and Gummie Bears that I'll be working on all week.

I agree on the no trick-or-treaters coming to apartments. My mom and I bought candy the first couple years we were in an apartment and no-one came. I gave up after that and didn't understand why she bought candy for two years afterwards. I don't see why people don't go to apartments. It's not like there are a bunch of psychos living in apartments. If I didn't feel too old to go trick-or-treating I would go to as many apartments as I could and houses and businesses. When I was a kid it was like the more candy the better.

Funny sutff.

I'm at my parents place this weekend, so I'm going to probably be seeing many trick or treaters today, and I'm sure I'll face my biggest "con" of Halloween:

Older Trick Or Treaters who are obviously not wearing a costume, but still expect you to give them candy.

I'm sorry, a rubber mask with your regular every day clothes is not a costume!
And for the few bold ones who don't even bother to spring for a mask: you are no longer trick or treating - you are panhandling.

I'll be checking for some I.D. on some of you older kids too.

One year a bunch of "kids" knocked on the door late, and after eyeing this bunch and trying not to laugh, I told them we were out of candy. They walked to the street, got back in thier car and drove off. I'm not making this up.

If you can't eat them... send it to me.

Had a bunch of kids here. My sister sat in the back of the van and we ran out of the candy we had set for the trick-or-treating. Had about 25 at one time.
