Exclamation Time change tonight

Most of the country will go on Standard time tonight. It officially begins at 2am. Set the clocks back one hour before going to bed tonight. If you do not, you'll be an hour early to church tomorrow. We also gain an hour of sleep.

The sun will now set an hour earlier, but rise an hour earlier in the morning. We go from a 6:50 sunset to a 5:50 sunset tomorrow and from a 7:55 sunrise this morning to a 6:55 sunrise in the morning.

...coincidentally this also gives everyone an extra hour to think of a good comeback

Eh, I think you mean we'd be late an hour for watching football.

It's too bad even an hour wouldn't be long enough for some people to come up with a good comeback.

No... If you don't change your clock... football will start at 12pm instead of 1pm ET tomorrow.

I know that. We LOSE an hour in the evening but GAIN it in the morning.

I don't like daylight savings either. It's only really for schoolkids going to school- just change the school opening times or give them flashlights! I dunno why, I'm just paranoid about the whole getting another hour- it's weird because on the TV guides the time skips RIGHT BACK again! I know the clock goes forward later in the year (taking back that hour)- but it's just bizaare! Imagine, somewhere in the world some recluse may have forgot to change the time back one year, and is stuck an hour away in time from the rest of us!

The whole 'getting another hour' sounds like some Bargain or something- like a coupon you get in the newspaper "Father Time brings you a great new deal- Live one hour, get another one Free!" Then when it's time for the clock to go forward "Product Recall: The Free Hours distributed by Father Time Inc. have proven to be faulty and damaging to the space-time continuom."

My sister this past week got on the bus a freaking HOUR AND 15 MINUTES BEFORE SUNRISE! That is absolutely ridiclous. Even Monday, it'll be 15 minutes before and getting later.

From what I understand Daylight Savings Time came about many years ago in order for farmers to have more time to spend working in their fields, it gave them an extra hour of daylight to work
