The show is cool, but why such a short run?

The Monkees didn't want to continue with the same format-they wanted to do a variety show type format. NBC didn't want to continue the show unless they stuck with the same old plots. So it was kind of a mutual cancellation.

Who is your favorite?

I can't imagine what kind of plots The Monkees could have had for a third season, anyways.

With the movie “Head” the Monkees wanted to be taken more seriously with there music and be more respected like the Beatles or the Doors.

They were trying to change there bubble gum image. Plus they fired Don Kushner (SP?) the producer for there first 3 albums.

After Peter Tork left the group the TV show just wouldn’t be the same with out the dumb blonde guy lol.

yeah i agree with a lot of you i think that nbc could have made it a lot more easier on them but...they wanted to do a movie instead with i think they could have done a little more better on! i mean maybe actaully makeing it about something haveing a plot to it or something! but hey i only like head cause it has the monkees in it if it were someone else besides them then heck i'd be bashing it like crazy! but i do hope in the near future or whatever that they all get together and do something like that tv special that they all did a while back! (but mikes too darn subburn so it'll have to be just the three of them again i guess!)
