Peter glad you enjoyed my city! I love it too! So many people are L.A. and Cali bashers that it is a shock to hear someone say L.A. is okay. There are some great people here! Ya'll come back soon!

Hey Peter, I am so glad that you enjoyed your stay in Southern California, and that you actually have a kind word to say about L.A. Either you are going to love or hate it, there is not a middle ground, when it comes to the city of Los Angeles...

Hi
Yeah I was there for all the rainfalls. I have been to LA before, but this time round I was soooooo shocked to see so many homeless around the streets and especially around Santa Monica.
I was in the US for 5 weeks and got back home to UK last Thursday.
I thought most americans were really nice, although ones at LAX were actually quite rude I thought, thankfully not to me though.

Woah, you made yor way to Utah, but didn't bother to go to Colorado? We're ten times as exciting as Utah, and have some sort of civilization at that. Glad you had fun. I can't wait to go back to England and actually explore a little more than Gatwick.

Yeah, it's gotten reeeeeeeeeeaally bad in S.M. They're everywhere. I was surprised by a homeless man sleeping in our laundry room once. Scared me pretty bad. At least it caused my landlord to fix the lock on the door, so that no more "visitors" should be able to get in.

The "do-gooders" in Santa Monica have taken it upon themselves to turn S.M. into a kind of haven for the homeless. However, these same people undoubtedly live in rich neighborhoods far removed from the "regular" population. We ordinary folk are the ones who have to walk through the crowds and tolerate harrassment at bus stops, etc.

Well, we have temperate weather. That's one reason. But as I said, we have a lot of services provided for the homeless, such as souplines. There are groups of people who "watch out" and actually provide for the homeless, at the expense of the rest of the citizenry. Instead of actually helping the homeless, they instead enable them. But... try convincing these self-righteous "helpers" of that. That's why I call them "do-gooders." In reality, they are only helping inflate their own egos. The homeless are still homeless, with no signs of improvement.

Has it gotten that much better?
I used to see quite a few and I lived in the Hampstead/St.John's Wood area for about 9 years.

When I was in London, I saw a LOT of homeless people...Well to me, it was a lot...When you leave your homestate of only 600K people and fly to a city in another country with roughly 5-8 million people, it seems like a lot to you.
