Was it because someone famous got their start on this show? I can't think of any other reason why a show that only had 6 eps would be released on DVD.

It's so easy for me to be pissed off when i hear of dumb shows like that are on DVD. If that show is going to be released from 1980 with only 6 eps, the Jeffersons spinoff-"Checking In" can be released on DVD from 1981 with only 4 eps.

Those are two completely different situations. Since it's been off the air, Pink Lady & Jeff has been mentioned alot as a really bad, cheesy show and in that respect it's built up a cult following. It's a show that's stayed in people's conciousness more than "Checking In." If you mention those two titles to people who watched television at that time, I'd bet most would remember Pink Lady & Jeff faster than they'd remember Checking In. Another thing is that PLAJ was released by Rhino, and unless a company like Rhino licenses it, Checking In is most likely at the bottom of the priority list of the company who owns the rights.
