It's actually 6-month old news but I wasn't here at tha trmoment, but John Seely, the composer-painist-conductor-arranger-contractor (Capitol Records) of trhe canned themes oft-used bY Warner Bros., Colbumia Screen Gems (which produces DENNSI, GIDGET, MARRIED WITH CHILDREN (whose costar Christina APplegate's got a current flick career), WHO'S THE BOSS, DONNA REED< FATHER KNOWS BEST, PARTRIDGE FAMILY, BRIAN KEITH SHOW,and JEANNIE just among a few sitcom oldies) , Don Fedderson and requent partner Desilu and Filmnways,as well as countless toon studios, anyway, John Seely, died on April 30 this year.
He was born Seely John 9forgot last name) in 1923 in Oakland,CALIF. His contracting of music at Capitol, often from music libraries going back to World War 2 to the baby boomer era radio then TV shows, with various assisants as well as boss W.G.Loose, including composers like my personal favorites Harry Bluestone & Emil Cadkin, Alexander Laszlo, Jack belasco and Dave Buttolph, Philip Greebn, george Hormel, jakc Shaindlin, & SPence Moore and others,oft-compiled from various British and AMerican production musdic libraries, helped the then-brgeoning TV industry. Seely's generoisty iun teaching piano and in supplying the music tracks, and many compositions, will always be appreciatied. Too bad that someone had to put this 6 months lat. http://www.apmmusic.com UPDATE: I've corrected and added to the above. But..Please go to my latest post for more.:-) |
