When Will and Grace invite Vince and Nadine over for a meet-and-greet dinner, they find to their horror that their guests are actually polar opposites of themselves. Meanwhile, Karen is still angry with Grace and decides to leave the interior design firm when Jack comes to her rescue and hires her to be his new assistant at "Out TV."
Let's hope for the best here! |

It was okay. I liked Will & Grace's story best. Grace was her usual self-centered bitch self, as she's been for quite some time now. Debra Messing is hilarious when she plays it, but it's just not as funny when you realize how much her character has been mistreated.
Jack and Karen's story was flat. How is it that they were the best characters before, but this season they've barely made me laugh? I laughed at Jack dictating with his belly button and Karen typing with her boobs, just because it was so stupid it was funny, but hardly anything else. |

That reminds me -- I don't like it when they try to humanize Karen. I don't mind sappy heartwarming moments in sitcoms, but in a show like "Will & Grace" and especially with a character like Karen, it feels forced. Which is how I feel every time they give Karen a tender moment. It works with Will and Grace and sometimes with Jack, but never with Karen.

Grace has changed too much, and not for the better. She was more likeable in the earlier seasons and much more fun and crazy. I thought maybe once Debra Messing's pregnancy was over, Grace would be like that again but she's just too mellow and different.
And with Karen, I agree they are trying to humanize her too much. In the first 4 or 5 seasons, when the writing and characters were at their best, Karen actually had a few emotional moments (like in season 2 when Stan was in the hospital) but the writing still made her character hillarious. Every week I get the same feeling watching this show. The writing just isn't at the magical place like it used to be where it was continuously creative with many laughs throughout the entire episode. I can understand the writers wanting the characters to evolve, but if you do it so dramatically and quick like W&G is doing, you're throwing away so many of the funny traits and traditions that made this show such a hit in the first place. If it's not broken, DON'T FIX IT! |

Yeah. Last night's episode was OK but the only thing that was really good was the Will & Grace storyline. But let's face it this show really is starting to show signs that it is running out of gas. The whole guest stars every week make the show look real cheesy and the writer problems are just getting worse and worse! So I won't be suprised if this show goes off the air after this season since Lifetime TV network will take the rights for the show next season and by that time, the whole show is over. Same for That '70s Show which will start their run on FX next year and by the time that happens, '70s is supposed to be over.

One of the things that impressed me was Kristen Davis as the off kilter Nadine. I must admit I was never a fan of her previous work (Sex In The City) but I must admit she was very funny in a sitcom.
I think she might have a sitcom of her own on NBC soon.

She has a deal with HBO to do her own show right now. But maybe if that falls through...

Doubt it. "Seinfeld" and "Friends" are like the kings of syndicated sitcoms, and "Will & Grace" doesn't come close to their level of popularity in syndication. Plus, once Lifetime gets the show, you won't be seeing it anywhere else, so unless Lifetime plays it like six times a day, it'll never catch up to those two, sadly.
