Alex's Life, starring Kimberly J. Brown as Alexandra "Alex" Culligan, a semi-popular 17 year old girl in high school. Alex is a senior in high school, she also in on the school's pom-pom squad and volleyball team. Alex lives in her New Jersey home with her family consisting of-her dad, Mark (Dave Coulier), her mom, Julie (Patricia Heaton), her 16 year old sister, Mackenzie (Alexa Vega), and her 13 year old brother, Jake (Jacob Smith). Mark Culligan is an orthodontist, Julie Culligan is a owner/manager of a coffee shop. Mackenzie is a sophomore in high school, Jake is an seventh grader. Alex's two best friends: Brittany Samuels (Brittany Snow) and Meghan Richards (Evan Rachel Wood). Meghan and Brittany are also on the school's pom-pom squad and the volleyball team, and both seniors in high school.

Episodes
Season One

Episode 1: Pilot Episode:
Alex begins her first day of senior year. Alex and her two friends: Meghan and Brittany, all become co-captains for the varsity volleyball team, and co-captains of the pom-pom squad for the year. The three girls are thrilled to death, and their new-found popularity is not a complaint for the girls.

Episode 2: Work Troubles:
Mark and Julie both are scheduled to work on Alex's 18th Birthday (a Saturday). Alex is at first upset, then cheers up after thinking she can throw a party. Alex, Meghan, and Brittany invite people over to the Culligan home for a party for Alex. Things get out of hand and the cops show up at the door (after a complaint from the neighbors). The cops contact Mark and Julie, due to the fact that the teens at the party were drinking alcohol. Mark and Julie are furious with Alex.

Episode 3: Boy Friend?:
Alex gets asked out by the quarterback of the football team. Alex has had a crush on him since freshman year, but never acted upon her feelings. Alex and her date, Jason (Chad Michael Murray) go out. While on the date, Alex learns Jason just is using her to get back at his ex. Alex leaves the date angrily. Her friends cheer her up afterwards.

Episode 4: Culligan Reunion:
The Culligan reluctantly attends their annual Culligan Family Reunion. Mark and Jake enter in their annual Culligan Father and Son Relay Race. They win first place for the first time in three years. Julie, Alex, and Mackenzie stick together, as the other women criticize each other in their own subtle ways. Alex spends the whole reunion on her cell phone with Meghan and Brittany.

Episode 5: Tryouts:
Mackenzie tries out for the pom-pom squad and gets on. Everyone gets Mackenzie crap, because they think the only reason why she got on is because she is Alex's sister. Alex tries to set those other kids straight. Mark and Julie celebrate their 19 year of marriage at a romantic bed and breakfast.

Episode 6: Going Blonde:
Mackenzie decides to dye her brown hair blonde. Her parents are not that supportive of her change in hair color. Alex, Meghan, and Brittany realize ever since Mackenzie went blonde, she has changed-for the worse.

Episode 7: Our Little Brother:
Alex and Mackenzie learn that Jake has a crush on someone, but Jake refuses to tell his sisters. After cracking under pressure, Jake confesses to his sisters that he likes Brittany's little sister, Chelsea Samuels (Jamie Lynn Spears). Brittany and Alex try to hook up Jake and Chelsea together.

Episode 8: Parental Advice:
Mackenzie asks Julie for advice on what she should wear to her first dinner date with her new boyfriend and his prim-and-proper parents. Alex learns Julie's advice to Mackenzie on how to act at dinner ruined Mackenzie's dinner with the Clinemans.

Episode 9: Best Friend vs. Best Friend:
Meghan and Brittany go head-to-head over the new hottie in school. Alex doesn't know how to get her friends to quit feuding and get along, until she learns that the new hottie has his eyes on Mackenzie. Meghan and Brittany forgive each other and team up to confront Mackenzie about 'stealing their man'. Mackenzie is totally oblivious to what is happening.

Episode 10: Meghan's Parental Problems:
Meghan learns her dad and dad's girlfriend are thinking of calling it quits, after her dad has another girl on the side. Meghan was finally getting comfortable with her dads girlfriend, but now she has to meet his new girlfriend-that same day as his old girlfriend moves out of their house. Mark isn't fond of Jake's history teacher (Amanda Bearse), after having to meet with her about Jake's grades.

Episode 11: Career Change In The Works:
Mark decides he wants to have a career change after 20 years of orthodontistry. Julie reminds him that he has to support a family of five and with Alex going to college next year, that it is not in his best interest to start a new career. Alex applies for colleges with Brittany and Meghan.

Episode 12: Jake Loves Chelsea, Chelsea Loves Jake:
Brittany spots Chelsea and Jake making out in the Samuels' living room. Brittany immediately calls Alex and Mackenzie to share the news. Meghan copes with her dad's sudden interest in his new girlfriend, Sarah (Debra Messing). Sarah surprising is pretty cool in Meghan's eyes.

Episode 13: Kids vs. Parents:
Julie and Mark are upset with Alex, Mackenzie, and Jake for all different reasons: (Alex-for coming in past curfew for the third time in a row) (Mackenzie-taking car without permission) (Jake-skipping school to hangout with Chelsea).
