"We were Robbed" funniest line - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I watched this episode recently. It is the 6th episode on season one. Anyway, with all race jokes aside, this line was funny. Fred told officer Swanny he was jumped by four guys. Swanny asked Fred were the guys, "colored" Fred hesitated and looked at Swanny and said, "Yeah, white!" I was dying! It got a big reaction from the audience as well.

One of My all time favorite episodes is "We Were Robbed." There are so many great one-liners and hilarious situations in it that it's hard to name all of them.
I love when Lamont finds out the truth, that Fred faked the robbery, so he does a little faking of his own.

LAMONT: We were robbed AGAIN Pop! TWICE in TWO days!!!

Uncertain) Robbed?

LAMONT: Yeah, I tried to fight 'em off, Pop, but there was too many of them. And you know what the first thing they went for was? YOUR PIGGY BANK!

FRED: WHAT?!!! But I had over $200 in there!!!

LAMONT: I know, Pop. I tried to stop em. I said, hey don't take that. My Pop's got over $200 in there!!!

Wasn't that line in the ep. when Fred was describing Rodney to the police? It came after the "thievin' honkey" line. LOL

.......I really liked the character Kelly in that episode. Showing Fred his gums and all, and how they're getting all firmed up.

Yes!! You are indeed correct!! I apologize to everyone on the board for making such a stupid mistake. That was from the Rodney episode. How dumb can i be. It was from a totally different season, not to mention from a totally different era in the show. I feel like a fish eyed fool!

I believe that episode with Kelly and his gums was from the episode where Otto steals all of Fred's copper plumbing and tries to sell it back to him. I just realized the person who played Otto also was in the movie Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. He played Violet (the girl who blows up into a blueberry) father.

I'd forgotten that the "we were robbed" wasn't the "hot copper" episode including Kelly.

My favorite line from the stolen copper episode:

Lamont: Well, Pop, are you happy now?

Fred: Am I happy? I'm out $200, I've got a truckload of copper at the bottom of the ocean, and I'm sitting here with my dummy son. I didn't know a black man could be so happy.
