I think these shows will still be on the air ten years from now.

ER is the one I see an end to soonest, especially with Wyle's exit.
Why doesn't NBC just axe it now? I mean, they are way too leanient on their dramas. The way NBC's going, they should've kept Friends on despite the cast leaving (unless a few would've stayed an 11th year) and replace the departed with new actors. IMO, ER without Clooney, Edwards and Wyle is like Friends without Aniston, Cox and Perry. |

I think L&O will be on forever, the revolving cast works for what the show, because the main characters aren't all that important.
ER will most likely be gone the soonest. As for The Simpsons, I've heard 2009 as a possible final year. That would be nice, 20 seasons even, although I think it could go for 25. |

I foresee ER ending the soonest.
It'd be pretty damn cool if The Simpsons went on for 20 years.

American Dreams.
I see "ER" gone within the next two seasons. It's setting nearly weekly series lows now and is losing its timeslot for the first time ever. That wouldn't be so bad were the show not costing NBC $7 million dollars an episode. Last week, the show drew 16.8mil viewers, a far cry from the 20-23 million is was drawing just two years ago, and less than half of what it used to draw. I don't think NBC will turn a profit this year anyway, especially with the loss of Thursdays and "Law & Order" taking a beating. The network is in third place on the season in adults- a demo which is owned just a year ago. Over the next two years I see NBC doing some major restructuring, just like ABC has done over the past few years. It needs to come up with something fresh if it is to win viewers back. Basically, it needs to find some scripted shows that don't have the words "Law" or "Order" in the title. On that note, it has renewed "Medical Investigation" for a full season, which is doing surprzingly well on Fridays. The other new shows though, are not doing so well. "LAX" is likely to be gone by December, and "Father" probably won't live to season a second season. "Hawaii" has been cancelled, while "Joey" has been renewed, but a second season is a lot more iffy than it was just a month ago. This year will also likely see the end of "American Dreams" (series low last week) and "Third Watch." Oh well, I guess NBC can always expand out on Dateline again... |

Even though I love ER I think it will be gone within a few seasons as well. NBC is losing viewers left and right. Despite the fact that I really hate how pathetic The Simpsons has become I cannot see it ending any time soon. And Law & Order seems to have some sort of pact with the devil to never be cancelled.

Last night, NBC averaged just 13.8 million viewers- "ER" hit another series low (16.2mil) and "Joey" drew just 11.4mil. NBC really needs to do something drastic on this night- what it has obviously isn't working.

In every post, why must you bash shows? Geesh, it gets annoying, if you don't like them fine, but you don't need to bash them with every single post Anywho, I think ER will be gone this year or next, for some reason, I have a feeling this is ER's last season, we just won't find out till early next year though, but don't quote me on that

About the ER thing, that would be a big surprise, but by May NBC will probably be looking for a series to send off just for the short term ratings gauin
