I don't think I've ever seen Herman and Lily kiss like Samantha and Darrin Stevens did on Bewitched. I only see Herman kiss Lily on the cheek every now and then.

I was in Roosevelt Island here in NYC about 4 years ago and I was taking my nephew for a walk. Well I'm walking and I saw Al Lewis leaning against a car smoking a cigar. I looked twice and stopped walking. He looked at me and the first thing I said was "Hi Granpa!" which was probably stupid but Al just smiled and said "Hello" and then I walked closer to him and he gave me a hug. He's such a sweet man.

Yes, Herman and Lily did kiss on the lips, but it was rare. To my knowledge, they only kissed on the lips in two episodes, Episode #4 - "Rock-a-Bye Munster" and Episode #47 - "John Doe Munster".
P.S. It's cool that you met Grandpa!!!

Thanks Munster#1. I'll be on the look out for those eps. I've always wanted to see them kiss.

I was wrong about the kissing episodes. It's #2 "My Fair Munster", #4 "Rock-A-Bye Munster", and #47 "John Doe Munster".
You might not see it on "Rock-A-Bye Munster" because TV Land might have cut out that scene. But I'm positive TV Land left it in in eps 2 and 47. |

To make room for commercials.
I'll try and get you the pix of the kissing scenes in eps 2 and 4 in a few minutes. |

Both photos show.
Photobucket is the same image host I've used on another site. I'd been doing attachments here before I joined Photobucket and I decided to continue the attachments here to keep it consistant. I would save people from having to sign in first to see the attachments if I switched to Photobucket, though. Working on another colorized photo. |

It's from the first episode I ever saw back in the early 1970s, "Pike's Pique". For some reason, our local station showed that episode first. The show went on at 5:00 followed by the Addams Family. My first time seeing that show, too. They were being promoted as similar shows. I saw the monster imagery in the Munsters, but couldn't see it in the Addams Family.
The Munster Go Home movie was the first thing I ever saw of the Munsters, though. My brother kept telling me to watch it, but it was unfamiliar to me. My brother is two years older than me and he remembered seeing the show back when it was on the network in 1964 to 1966. I was too young and was at the right age just after it went off the air. After that, I had seen older comic books with cartoon ads for the Munsters koach and that had been my only exposure to the characters. I still didn't quite know what they were about exactly until I saw the Munster Go Home movie on TV in the early 70s. |
