Default I Was Watchin 60 Minutes & I Got Upset

They had a story on this black guy who was killing a lot of women in Detroit & Houston. He might be gettin out of prison soon. He killed about 15-20 women in the 80's. He told the police the reason why he killed these women is because they had evil in their eyes. He's a f***in nut. I'm gettin so sick & tired of criminals being let out of prison. Let them bas***ds die in prison cause i feel anytime somebody kills somebody, their life should be taken. The justice system really sucks & they need to stop wasting taxpayers money on these criminals by lettin them go to court & have a trial when they're already guilty. If i was in charge of the justice system, i would give every a**hole the electric chair everytime they kill somebody.

Such an eloquent way to express such a noble idea. You should get a humanitarian award.

Come on, don't you think there was a better way to express your thoughts? This is one of the reasons we can't discuss politics on this board anymore. People don't know how to let go of their passions in order to have a reasoned argument.

Let me try anyway. The justice system isn't solving problems. It's trying to curb the effect of crime - not the cause of crime. Society at large is to blame for people killing other people (not just the individual). So, yes, people should go to prison; but no, they should not be killed. In fact, the United States still has to get rid of the death penalty because it has signed and ratified the UN Convention on Civil and Political Rights. Instead of increasing security, governments should be doing their best in improving education and reducing inequalities. Certainly there are people out there who have mental problems and have inexplicable desires to engage in violence - but if they had the same resources provided to the rest of society, they would be able to get help before they did anything drastic.

So you're saying that people who kill somebody shouldn't be given the electric chair? Are u crazy? I think u are. The prisons wouldn't be so crowded if the criminals were given the electric chair for the crimes they commit. It's not fair that killers should walk the streets & people should be in fear. The streets would be a lot safer if killers were killed in prison cause i guarantee u when they get out of prison, they'll kill again cause they don't have that many options. Jobs don't wanna hire killers when they get out of prison cause supervisors feel like killers/criminals shouldn't be given a 2nd chance.

I'd much more inclined to listen to your argument if you refrained from saying things like that.

Are you saying that most people that commit a crime have the mental problem and that is justifiable? That they can't be punished appropriately for the reason of insanity? Being in prison doesn't rehab anyone; even the worst criminal. Something more drastic has to be done in order for the wanabees to learn their lesson and don't commit a crime. Taking little courses in jail and doing community service is not an option either! What would be an 'appropriate' punishment for a criminal then?

It's not fair that you flood these boards with your dumbass posts, maybe we should give you the chair, it would solve the problem.

Or, maybe we should try to educate you and explain to you why it is more productive to go about your life in an intelligent way, and give you a chance to change.

Even millionaires commit murder, remember the Menendez brothers? And they would have had access to any resource they wanted.

Oh get off your high horse and quit acting like an ******* to everyone who isn't as "intelligent" as you. You don't know what kind of situations people have been through in their lives, so you have no right to call them out because they're not up to par with your standards. If that was you on the other side, I'm sure you wouldn't like being called an idiot who should be put out of their misery to spare the human race.

The percentage of the prison population that is there because they commited murder is miniscule. You could "fry" them all if that is your wish, IT, and it wouldn't make a dent in the over population in the prisons.

I seriously believe that the prisons wouldn't be overcrowded if prisoners were given the electric chair & i bet u if people started seeing that this is what happens to prisoners when they kill people, it would make people think twice about killing someone. Just the thought of having electric shock waves going through your body when you're in a electric chair isn't something i don't think a prisoner wants to experience.

You're just simply wrong IT. The prison population isn't loaded with people convicted of murder. As I told you, that is a miniscule portion of the prison population. As for the threat of the death sentence scaring potential killers off from doing their deed: all realistic eviidence shows that it has no appreciable effect whatsoever.

So let's fry them all, who cares that there could be innocent people in prison trying to prove they are innocent? Let's just kill them first and ask questions later?

There's alot of innocent people in prison there was a study about it not too long ago, lot more than we think there are in prison.

I'm not saying all are innocent, but the ones who do the really heinous crimes should be put to death, but that teaches them nothing, that's the easy way out, life in prison is more punishment IMO
