In this week's issue of Entertainment Weekly, they have a section on celebrities and entertainment executives who are going up or going down in their opinion. I had to laugh when I saw THIS listing for going DOWN:
"Carole Black---President and CEO, Lifetime Entertainment, Age 61. Strong Medicine is a placebo, The Division failed to multiply viewers. Even precious Golden Girls reruns dropped 21 percent of their viewers since last year. To resurrect the once-most-watched cabler in prime time (now No. 7), Black announced "New Movie Monday." That should hold a couple of eyeballs." Hehe, I think it was more that TD didn't retain the viewers that it HAD, for obvious reasons.

LOL I agree! It's really pretty ironic really. I mean if, you think about. On the same level though, I also think It was more DJL decision and not lifetimes. I think DJL was tired of the same show, and lifetime just wasn't smart enough or maybe DjL didn't want anybody else to write for the show, but either way they could have had someone come in and take DJL place. JMO they do it all the time in soaps, even night time Drama's. Like Law In Order, or the CSI shows. Even West Wing, the guy who created that show isn't there anymore. Granted from what I understand West wing has gone down in rateing since the guy left, but I am just makeing a point i guess. maybe a stupid one, but it's a point. I mean I agree though that this past season wasn't what it could have been.
I also have one more reason why rating for Golden Girls went down. I don't know if, this is just were I live or if, it's were everyone is... but like they showed it like six times a day. I used to love the show. I probably always will, but the fact remains yes, I am sure you can show a show for a while that long, but after a while you get sick of it, and you know all the eppy's so i think people are just getting tired of the same old stuff. I think they need to revamp lifetime. I mean I think i am one in few who does like Missing, but I don't watch it every week. I am lucky if, remember that it's on. Okay I am done rambling.. |

I agree thte Lifetime does need to "revamp" if the layout of their movies and shows. In my opinion, one thing I would do is put the lifetime original shows (The Division & Any Day Now) maybe in the afternoon and then the Nanny and Golden GIrls at night.
