I never saw a post on here about the 3 fisherman/dudes on the raft that drifted off the coast of georgia and were never found, so I was wondering if you guys know of any updates from this story. It aired today on a segment in the second episode. Apparently, their families started getting mysterious phone calls from men speaking spanish, and the only things english they were saying were their names and telephone #'s. The guy that survived out of the 4 feels they were picked up by a freighter he saw, and the people making phone calls are holding them hostage. I kind of think these phone calls were pranks from people hearing the news story about the guys missing, since it didn't sound like anything serious, but if there was an update later in the series, maybe I'm wrong. Either way, it bothers me nonetheless. Anyone know anything, or have any opinions on the story?

I'm sorry that I don't have an update for you...in fact, I'd be interested in finding out if anyone has heard anything.
But to add to this, I remember a segment on UM similar to this. I can't remember the specifics except the boat's name was the Sarah Jo (or something close to that) and the men aboard went missing - yet on an island there was a makeshift grave and pieces of the Sarah Jo washed on the beach. The grave had stones and an odd "cross" of some type. I haven't seen this story on the Lifetime repeats. I'm assuming there are no updates on this either. |

The case in question was about a boat named the Casey Nicole. The Sarah Jo disappeared off the coast of Hawaii in 1979. That was the one where the wrecked boat was alongside the grave.

To which case? The Georgia fisherman or the Sarah Jo?
I'm not aware of either being solved. However, I do recall reading on here an explanation for the pieces of paper found at the makeshift grave site of one of the crew members of the Sarah Jo. Apparently it was part of a Thai(?) funeral ritual. I'll see if I can find the post... EDIT: Here's some more on the Sarah Jo and the Thai fisherman theory. http://www.hawaiistories.com/archives/006035.shtml Here's another, more in depth, version of the same story... http://forums.writersbeat.com/showthread.php?t=1628 |
