This is difficult. Not because they are two very excellent series but because comparing them would be like comparing their enviornments, a suburban neighborhood to a deserted island.

I'm going to say Lost because it is one of the most original series I've seen in a long time. I like seeing new premises as opposed to watching those that have been rehashed or thouroughly mined.

Damn, I meant to make a poll, ohh well.

While I enjoyed the initial two-parter of Lost (the plane crash in particular), I'm just not that interested in the other episodes. Maybe if there were no "strange island creatures" I would enjoy it more, but that takes away from the realism.

So, as you may have already guessed, I'm going with Desperate Housewives. Funny and suspenseful, without ever missing a beat.

I'm just getting into Lost, but DH has it for me. They are two very different series, one is enjoyable on a funny/campy/mysterious sort of way, while one is good in a dramatic way.

ABC really did go out of its way this season. Hopefully they'll be able to pull out a good sitcom now. There's word that Melissa Etheridge will star in a sitcom about a single lesbian mom. Hopefully, ABC won't censor nor dumb down the series- it actually looks far more interesting than any sitcom that has premiered so far this season and could hopefully get back to those groundbreaking sitcoms that it used to air, like "According To Jim." (hahahahaha)

Desperate Housewives, nothing else comes close IMO. It's the best most original drama on tv in a very long time

Definitely Desperate Housewives! Lost is ok, but DH is just so excellent! It blends together every single TV element that I love: comedy, mystery, melodrama and romance. Those four things, no matter the dose size of each, will always make enjoyable TV for me. It's like mixing together ice cream, cake, chocolate syrup, and cookies all into the same bowl. It just screams DELICIOUS!

I just got caught up with Lost today. I'd recorded the two most recent episodes and finally watched them back to back today. So betwen 4 eps of Lost and 3 eps of Desp. Housewives, my vote goes to Desp. Housewives, by a landslide. Lost isn't as engaging to me as I thought it would be. I still think it's okay and I'll continue to watch, but I feel even more than before that it doesn't seem like a show that'll last long, it'll have a tough time sustaining interest.

Desp. Housewives is just fun, a fun show with fun characters and funny situations. For me, the Marcia Cross and Eva Langoria characters are very interesting and enjoyable to watch (not to say that the others aren't). And there's a nice mystery that will keep people tuning in to see how it ties in to the various characters. Sitcom or drama, Desp. Housewives is my favorite new show of the season. (But then, I still haven't watched the episodes I've recorded of Veronica Mars, Kevin Hill or life as we know it yet, but that's a discussion for another thread)

Do it again, make a poll. But this time, post it right after an episode of Lost airs. Posting this right after Desperate Housewives, we're gonna be a bit biased because this is fresh in our minds. The results may be the same, but you know what I mean.
