Default Hair Show Movie

Monique's new movie Hair Show came out yesterday to theatres. I'm gonna check it out next weekend. Kellita Smith who's Bernie Mac's wife on his tv show is also in it as Monique's sister & they own a beautyshop together. Taraji Henson, Joe Torry, Vivica Fox, rapper E-40 is also in the movie. I saw the previews & i saw tennis star Serena Williams talkin to Monique in a car. I don't know how big of a part Serena has.

LOL. This movie hardly got any promotion. I'm just now seeing previews for it. I didn't even see a movie critic give his opinion about the movie in the newspaper.

I didn't see any promotions for it either. I saw it advertised in Ebony or Jet.

I went to BET's website & read their review about the movie. The person who reviewed the movie said it sucks so bad & the jokes are lame. The person said it should've went straight to video LOL. That's not surprising. It seems a lot of black movies that come out now are lame. I was gonna go see Hair Show but after reading that review on BET's website about the movie, i'm gonna wait until it comes on video.

Black movies nowadays are lame. What ever happened to Boyz N the 'Hood, Juice, New Jack City, Dead Presidents, Set It Off, Menace II Society, Do the Right Thing, Harlem Nights, Even older movies like Cooley High, Uptown Saturday Night. Black movies today have become silly and not very serious.

The reason why black movies are so lame now is because the producers, writers, directors in Hollywood have ran out of ideas for movies cause the movies that are being done now has already been done before. Every straight to video black movie now is about the ghetto, sellin drugs, black males killin each other, sex. Blacks have seen that s**t a million times. We don't need to keep seeing that cause all blacks aren't about that. I'm tired of rappers doing movies & tv shows also. Every rapper think they can act & they can't. U see Redman & Method Man's tv show got cancelled. It should've never got on the air.

I'm tired of seeing blacks in the 'hood and killing one another. Baby Boy was an example of a negative black movie. I'm not going to deny that was reality, but it showcased a twisted young black male with no goals of achieving. Like you said, we don't need to see this anymore.

In Baby Boy did Snoop Dogg come by and do a drive by and did the drive by go in slow motion and show Snoop shooting the main guy...

Because I watched the ending of it on some movie channel back in 2002...

Then I watched Menace II Society (one of my all time favorite movies) and thought it looked familiar...

So if that's true then Baby Boy ripped off Menace II Society.

Anyways I only saw ONE commercial for it on BET...

I subscribe to JET magazine (so what if I'm white! =P) and I didn't see an ad in it...

Poor Mo'Nique...she's a talented comedian too bad she does sucky comedies...

Why recent black comedies have to be so sterotypical?

Why can't it be real and actually funny?

I was thinking that I might wanna see it in theaters but I haven't heard ANYTHING about it...

It seems like it should've been a straight to DVD movie, though

Snoop did shoot at Tyrese in the movie & it was in slow motion. I think Tyrese was dreamin during that scene cause he didn't get shot at all which i thought was phony. I thought he was gonna die in that scene cause if that would've been real life, he would've been dead cause there's no way a guy is gonna shoot at u that close & miss. Caffeine King u subscribe to Jet magazine huh? LOL. Menace II Society is one of my favorite movies also. I can watch that over & over again. It's a shame Tyrin Turner who played Caine in that movie has had a s***ty acting career after that movie. He looked like a b***h in Belly movie with rappers DMX & Nas. He had a perm & thick glasses LOL. He was in Ja Rule's I Cry video & i saw Tyrin in Crime Partners movie that came straight to video 2 yrs ago. That movie sucked. Snoop Dogg, Ja Rule, Ice T, Clifton Powell were in that but Snoop, Ja Rule, Ice T had very small parts.

The promotion I seen for this movie was so awful! Which only leads me to believe the movie is not even worth putting on video!!!

LOL@MarvinG hahahahahahahahahaha. Yeah Hair Show looks terrible. Breakin All The Rules movie with Jamie Foxx, Gabrielle Union, Morris Chestnut was horrible. I saw that this past weekend cause it's on video now. I'm mad i wasted my money. If i see Gabrielle & Morris in another movie together, i'm gonna scream LOL. The thing that amazed me about Baby Boy is that it's odd that Tyrese can get all that play from attractive women but he had no job & living with his mom & he wasn't trying to move out LOL. The part i thought that was funny is when Ving Rhames punched Tyrese so hard he fell on the glass table hahahahahahahahahahahahaha. Tyrese should've known not to mess with Ving cause Ving is a big dude.
