Smile In the end.....

it all comes down to friendship....

You all may wonder why I started a thread like this, well it has to do with some recent things going on here and on other boards and in my own personal life.

I have been very busy this school year. My new 5th grade class are real sweet kids, but very high energy, and therefore have been a bit on the high maintance side. Many nights I can't get up to my nice computer room to be on the boards and chatting with my friends because I don't have the energy to climb the stairs. Plus my health hasn't been the best, so I have been a bit scarce lately.

I have gotten to reading the things going on here, tho, when I can and I would like to say something that has been on my mind through it all. In spite of what others might say about our show and our Prinze, they can't take away from what we have as friends. Freddie and CATM brought us all together and I am the richer for it. So in spite of what might be going on at the other boards, please remember we have a home here. Thank you TJ, for running a positive board.

I also want to thank some of my sisters here. Some of them have been very generous with some of their Freddie things, emailing me and sharing stuff with me. I don't know how to thank you all enough for your gifts to me. Even in these dry times of little computer time and even less Freddie time, watching our Prinze on these rare gems has kept me going. I don't know how to begin to thank you for these items. I know I have been scarce around here, but I feel your loving presence in my life all the time. CATM still graces my computer, with pics of Freddie pasted to my monitor and Dani's wonderful calendars gracing my screen background every month. I have not forgotten Freddie or any of you. You all are in my thoughts and prayers all the time.

I have especially enjoyed the antics of the ongoing drama on the story threads. Thank you Jennylee and company who keep those stories alive. You all put a smile on my face when I really need one. I really feel like you are keeping Freddie's memory and talent alive with these stories.

Finally, I want to thank my sister Mariposa for her continued friendship, in spite of the fact that I have been sporatic in my contact with her lately. I am looking forward to going out to see her this coming week. It will be the best 4 days of my life right now. It is good to get away and be with a Freddie friend. I hope to see Cheryl again sometime. I enjoyed the time I spent with her and her hubby. My one wish right now is that I would have more time and start to feel better so I can do these things.

A note on the story front. I have finally finished Ch 5 of In Harm's Way, but need a few moments to edit it before I post it. I was able to steal a day when we had an unexpected holiday from school on Columbus Day to finish this chapter. My editor has the last chapter of Opportunity Knocks right now as well and we will have that posted soon too. After that, I dunno. I guess you will have to wait for some of our school holidays for me to get an opportunity to write some more. I haven't forgotten or lost interest. I wanted to let everyone know that.

Bottom line..... I appreciate all of you and miss the times we have shared together. Keep me in your thoughts and prayers as I try to get a handle on my own life and health. You guys are the BEST!

As the song goes...."That's what friends are for..."

Hope things go better for ya! We enjoyed meeting you this summer! Maybe you can get a laptop & then be able to get online from anywhere in the house. Maybe you can get up to the Arlo Guthrie shows in Harrisonburg, VA or Alexandria, VA. You are right, we are all a family of friends here & no matter what the naysayers says, they can't take that away from us...

I agree luckymama, I am very grateful for this board! All of us here have been through alot and if it weren't for our little family here I, personally wouldn't of known what I have done. Most of you know or have known what I have gone through these past 3 years and I am SO THANKFUL FOR YOUR FRIENDSHIP here. I know so much of us have come and gone and great deal of us have stayed here to see the renewel of Chico and the Man fever start up again with the help of the Goodlife network. I know there are some people who aren't aware of this board or possibly the websites that keep Chico and the Man alive as a whole. What I'm trying to say is what ever negativity we see on the boards are from those who don't even know what is going on here at sitcoms and all the other websites here on the web. Let us be thankful that we have each other to support each other as friends, and devoted fans of the Chico and the Man show. Together we can over come the cruelty of those who bash the show with our own dedication through love of Chico and the Man and through each of us here!

Default I want to second the thoughts that

Luckymama and the rest of you have expressed. I love everyone on these boards..us old timers along with all the new members and the ones that pop in every once in a while to show thier support for CATM and our beloved Freddie Prinze. We are so fortunate to have each other and to have met and now have lifelong friendships just because of the show and the talent of one young man who touched our hearts with his incrediable sense of humor, that heartstopping smile and eyes that God has never duplicated since. Thank you all for the smiles and being able to help each other through good and bad times. I am so proud to be a member of this board. Gracias.

Wink

I wanted to tell you all that I had a really great time hanging out with Mariposa and her family this past weekend. We went to a festival in her town and had a great time. Hubby and I don't get to go away much, so I was glad he was wanting to go back to this festival so I could see Mariposa again. It is great to have friends.

I hope you all had a good weekend while I was away.

Side note to Hue_mee.... I got the DVD I was telling you about this weekend and as soon as I figure out the wiring for making VHS, I'll let you know.

I was thinking about something in the car on the way home today.... Didn't someone on here mention that the Tony Orlando and Dawn show was coming out on DVD soon??? If anyone knows when, let us know, cause I do want to get the ones with Freddie on them.

Hello dear Freddie friends!
those thoughts are so beautuiful and genuine and I second them. I love the ime i get to spend on the cpmputer with all of my Freddie friends and my writing. These boards are ablessing a place to come to and relive the memories of freddie and create new ones with our very active....and sometimes overactive imaginations.
I have had some trying times of late myself and dealing with severe depression and now some health issues as well but it is always a bright spot to come here with all of my friends and i look forward to the day when we can all have a Freddie friend Union...i say that because since most of us have not met personally we can't really have a reunion! LOL but i look forward to it just the same.
Love and prayers for you all and God bless you my Freddie friends and family! I love you!

Hi all!
I have been here all along, but haven't had a chance to say much lately. Gearing up to deal with all the upcoming holidays and such....it can take a lot out of a person.
All of you have always been a comfort in times of need and I'm glad to be among you. I'm grateful that we have connected and can depend on each other to be there. That's always a nice feeling.

Wink Thanx mucho, Lucky....

We did have the best time, in spite of a few minor glitches like the rain spoiling our plans to attend the final parade! (We were all festival-ed out by then anyway, I think LOL!)

In my running battle with my older daughter for control of the computer, I am constantly telling her that if I didn't have the internet, I wouldn't have any friends at all! (We live out in the country outside a small town that--even after more than 12 years--has not embraced a suburban stranger like me.) I have to thank Lucky, of course, but all the rest of you as well!

Glad ya'll had fun! It was so much fun meeting Luckymama this summer! I wish I could meet you all!

I can relate to the depression as I have severe depression due to diabetes. It's rough but hang in there we know how you feel. Maybe that's why I'm attracted to Freddie. Because he had depression too. He's such a sad little thing but we love him...

Question

Hello everyone!
I've been very scarce lately but I often think of you all! Wanted to stop in and say hi!

I wish everyone of my "Chico pals" the best--to those that are going through difficult times--hang in there!

I've been spreading myself a little too thin, between lots of overtime at work, housework, kids, and helping my sister take care of my elderly dad (he has lung cancer and for awhile, needed to go get daily chemo and radiation. He recently had to quit driving because of failing eyesight, so we take him everywhere). He's doing better now! Sometimes I wonder if I can make it through another day--it's nice to have friends like you to share a common passion and maybe even vent a little with!
