Question about car insurance

um say I got a speeding ticket besides the points off my license would my insurance go up?

please god tell me it won't.

I dont think so. It didnt seem to when I got a ticket. But at the time I was under my parents policy and was under my Dads vehicle. So, who knows. I also lost my license because of that, but looking back, I really dont remember the price going up. If it did, it was only by a few dollars.

The posted limit was 60 or 65 and I was going around 85 maybe 90. I don't see what the big deal is its the freaking highway. It really annoys me how I was singled out over everyone. I have the option of going to some stupid court summons or whatever its called and fighting it or just paying it.

85 in a 65 on a major highway isnt that bad. I mean honestly.. the majority of people on the highway go over 75. Doesnt mean its right... but still. When we were coming back from The Big E, we were using my car and my mother got pulled for doing 86 in a 65. Just a warning though. And once again, I COULDNT FIND THE REGISTRATION.

Eh, Id just pay it. My mother wanted to fight it when I got pulled over saying I was singled out and it was my first offense, but I was passing everyone to beat them at the merge, so it wouldve been a waste. Plus it was only $72 and she paid it for me. How much is the ticket?

Just pay the ticket. I don't think your insurance will go up if you just flat out pay it. If you dawdle around it might though.

If you were going 85 or 90 in a 65, and you don't see anything wrong with that, you seriously need some driver's education.

Don't bother going to court to fight the ticket. You'll lose. Especially with your 'what the hell is wrong with that' attitude. Judges aren't very impressed with that.

Here in California we have the option to take Driver Ed. classes on a first offense. If you have that option and you take it then your insurance won't go up because the ticket is erased from your record. If you have that option available to you where you are, then I suggest that you take advantage of it. If you don't then if the laws where you are are like the laws in California your insurance will go up.

almost $200. I don't even know to be exact i don't want to look at it it's making me sick. i blame it all on my stupid friend. i tell him to be on cop lookout and he falls asleep I really hate cops. I was in the middle lane. The people in the left lane must've been doing at 100 and I get pulled over.

Took drivers ed but thanks. They actually taught us to go above the speed limit on the LIE or else our ass is gonna get killed. We don't have that option here, we could take defensive driving but it doesn't do anything.

Judging by your posts I doubt that you know if they are availavble in your area or not. I'm not talking about school boy driver's ed. These classes are for first time offenders. I don't know how helpful they are but in your case they would be helpful. They'd be helpful to you financially and they would be helpful to you because you make excuses and, in your last post, you even passed the buck. You sound like an accident waiting to happen. I feel bad for who ever else is involved when it happens.

Usually Auto Insurers wont go out of thier way to search the driving record of an insured (you) as long as you keep your policy current. If you want to switch to another company they will do a search of your record and will likely come up with a higher premium factoring in your ticket. Many times if you go to the first court date you can get the charge changed to something else that will not carry any points, or will carry less points. Usually the fine will not be reduced and often can be higher - but at least the points go down.

Damn. Yah see I always drive in the left lane. Always. My parents tell me not to because 'my car doesnt stand a chance' if I get hit. But I hate the middle lane because all the trucks are in that lane, and the right lane.. hell thats just too damn slow, and I swear people just cut you off getting on the highway.

He probably pulled you over because you have a sports car, and if he was able to see you, because youre young.

Uuuhh, no. ALL Insurance companies have at their fingertips the records of the drivers they are insuring or intend to insure. We're talking money here. They don't overlook the opportunity to force someone to pay more money. There is no escaping your record.
