I've been through a tornado warning before, but nothing touched down where I was.

I had a dream...actually... I don't know if it was a dream or not cause I was about 4 maybe and you just don't know when that long ago WHAT is real life and what is not...so the sky was all read and there was a tornado somewhere near and I thought in my head "tomato?" Seriously all with a picture of it in my head in a speaking bubble with tomato written next to it. The end.

I've been through a couple small ones and the rest were warnings, still pretty scary. My area seems to get a tornado warning at least once a year and it's usually the northern part of the county or a few towns south of us that gets hit.

No. Been through several tornado warnings and even storms that radar indicated could be producing one. The odds of your house actually being struck are EXTREMELY slim.

No, I've never been in a tornado. I feel very fortunate for never being in one. I think the last time there was a major tornado in the city I live in was in 1912. I have heard tornado warnings for where I live before during this summer. But, the worst that ever happens is just thunderstorms with hail.

I've been through numerous warnings. The worst is one that touched down in Fort Worth, TX. It was during rush hour and it took out at least 2 skyscrapers.

I was in one in 1985. It didn't do anything to my house, but it sure destroyed most of the town. The town isn't very big, but what we did have pretty much got destroyed all the way down to the high school.

I've been thru numerous warnings, but nothing too serious...They're usually just really strong windstorms... We did have a close call w/ one on August 12, 2000. We got winds up to 111MPH and people reported seeing a tornado funnel go over our town...but it never touched down. You can imagine what 110+MPH winds did to our town...It downed a LOT of trees...Blew the roof off quite a few homes, including one hotel...A lot of mobile homes were damaged, and a two-story home was completely destroyed. We had a serious downpour and major thunderstorm that accompanied the 111MPH winds we got that day. We were pretty lucky - all that happened was a few shingles got blown off our roof...We had to pick up a few tree branches, but that was about it. It was chaos at my neighbor's, though, because the winds yanked the cable line out of their house and broke a tree in their yard.
My area of town was without power for 12 hours...but there were other areas that were without power for a day or so.
