I would say that the school is over reacting a bit. Though swearing at the teacher because you can't make it to class on time isn't proper behavior either. I'm sure that every single one of us was tardy to a class at least once, and most of us did not swear at the teacher...at least not loud enough so they could hear it.

Damn. But from the sounds of it.. he's been in trouble before. Im not saying jail is the right answer, but he should learn how to treat a teacher - even if he doesnt like them.

There was a kid here in the Metro Detroit area who is facing jail time, he didn't like one of the liasion officers for the high school he attends because the officer had issues with him in the past and so the kidhad stolen some guns from a gun store, had neo-nazi propaganda in his bedroom, his dad helped him hide the guns inthe ceiling tiles of the basement and the next door neighbor taught him how to make bombs. h was on the internet in a chatroom and he told this girl from Washington his plans about blowing up the school and killing his famly and some kids he went to school with, she got in touch with authorities and the kid faces up to 25 years in jail.

What BS.

I think the law need to stop being so over the top with the petty "crimes" and focus on the REAL criminals...psycho's, stalkers, rapists, muggers, murderers etc. The ones who do real damage, not some kid who just needs his mouth washed out.

I think this is good. Bad words have become entirely too pervasive in our society. This kid gets exactly what he deserves. Hopefully, this will be the start of a decline in the use of these useless words!!!
