Default Nyleen Kay Marshall and the letters

This story was shown earlier today and I noticed that when they showed the letters Nyleen's abductor sent to the police, a few lines were visable and they said some VERY creepy and disturbing things. I'm not going to type what was said. Did anyone else catch this? I now think this is the most disturbing kidnapping case UM has ever profiled.

Hey! Yes, I know exactly what disgusting things you are talking about. When I was watching in the past off one of my tapes, I paused it so I could read some of the note and was almost sorry I did!

It is so sad because she's probably still out there, according to the letters. Its a good thing if she hasn't been killed, but can you imagine what a horrible life she must have to be raised by her kidnapper!

Disturbing and heartbreaking. What kind of a monster would kidnap a child and brag about abusing her in this way? Nyleen would be in her 20's now and I wonder if she has any memory of her family.

Very disturbing case. I taped this segment yesterday so maybe I'll go back and read some of the letter.

From the short clips that WERE read of the letter on the segment, it looked as though Nyleen's biggest danger was of being sexually abused. I don't think she was in danger of being killed. But who knows? Such a sad case. Today, Nyleen would be 25 years old. She's been missing since she was 4. Her family has probably been in a living hell for the last 20 years.

Her abductor appears to be a psychopath who enjoys controlling, manipulating and dominating his victim. He would have developed a very close bond with her. This bond of control and domination would involve monitoring and restricting her movements, He would forbid her to develop friendships with other children and teenagers in adolescence and people in adulthood. He would be jealous of any friendships. It would reduce the time he was able to spend with her and could result in the end of his fantasy. She would be confined to his home. It seems probable she was sexually abused when she was younger and continued through adolescence and into adulthood.

She is most probably alive and unaware that her family in Montana are searching for her for the last 21 years. Her abductor would have indoctrinated her with his fantasy that she has no reason to question the legitimacy of his claims and his lifestyle. In her eyes her abductor's control, deception and abuse would become normal over time.

Default I have put forward the idea

several times that Nyleen might still be alive and have no idea about her true identity. In an age where the internet is so prevelent in society one would think she would be able to find out information online - Being that she is now of "age" this becomes more and more of a possibility with each passing year.

As far as the sexual abuse goes it is creepy for sure but I really believe that her abductor never did away with her which I believe is more fesiable with say the "Morgan Nick" case. This is one of the case I'm probably most interested in seeing resolved basically because it's been on the dockets for so long without any leads you'd think there would be some resoultion by now

Later.

Its highly probable that Nyleen Kay Marshall is alive today. The abductor indicated in a letter she was taught at home and travelled. This suggests he invested in her life and created a new identity for her. He definitely exerted a great degree of control to prevent her from discovering her genuine identity. If, he did not control her movements she may have been tempted to view the outside world. A resolution could occur when her abductor dies or becomes seriously ill and requires medical treatment in hospital. It seems this could result in her confronting the reality of a life of deception and manipulation.

That's an old thread, so sorry for resurrecting it!

It's so creepy, I remember seeing it!!!

It reminds me in a way of the book "Perfect Victim" about the true case of Cameron and Janice Hooker, who kidnapped a woman and kept her as a "slave" in their house. Eventually she was allowed to get a job and even visit her family, yet she kept returning to her captors' house...She ran away, helped (I think) by Janice, who then turned against her husband to testify and get a lesser sentence. Talk about brainwashing! Poor girl!

Yup, scary thing...It's possible that she's still alive. I'd love to see that case again.
