Warner Home Video Fills the Holidays With ``Comfort and Joy,'' the Lighthearted Comedy from the Lifetime Home Entertainment Library, Available November 2
BURBANK, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 7, 2004--It's the most wonderful time of year and Warner Home Video can't wait to bring consumers into the holiday spirit with the latest release from the Lifetime Home Entertainment library, "Comfort and Joy," available in stores November 2, 2004. The 89-minute Lifetime Original Movie will be available on DVD for $19.98 and for rental on VHS. What if one day you woke up and suddenly found yourself living an entirely different life? For career woman Jane Berry, that's exactly what happens when she hits her head and wakes up to find herself trapped in suburbia. "Comfort and Joy" is the uplifting, delightful holiday tale about the joys of family life and the importance of putting others before oneself. Nancy McKeon (Lifetime's "The Division," "Facts of Life") stars as Jane, a high-powered, materialistic single businesswoman whose main focus is on advancing her career. She lives her life in fifth gear, cell phone in one hand, the wheel of her car in the other. She makes people jump to follow her orders, but as Christmas approaches, the turbo-charged executive finds herself with a case of the holiday blues over the lack of real love in her life. On her way to the company's holiday party, Jane's life changes forever when she suffers a car accident and wakes up to find she's a married, stay-at-home mom with two kids and a passion for charity work. The film also stars Steven Eckholdt ("My Big Fat Greek Life"), Dixie Carter ("Designing Women") and Paul Dooley ("A Mighty Wind"). Special features on the DVD include interviews with the cast members and crew. "Comfort and Joy" will be rebroadcast on Lifetime and Lifetime Movie Network to coincide with the holiday shopping season. "We are pleased to bring to retail another title from our branded line of Lifetime home entertainment products. `Comfort and Joy' is a wonderful holiday movie that can be enjoyed with the whole family. It's entertaining, uplifting and perfectly exemplifies the true spirit of the season," said Christine Martinez, WHV Vice President Non-theatrical Franchise Marketing. "The holiday season has become so hectic that Lifetime likes to offer a brief respite in the form of an enjoyable movie that speaks directly to the needs and feelings of women," said Adam Lewinson, VP Home Entertainment for Lifetime. It'd bee good to watch, but the only thing that would shun off people of my generation is the cover with the word in big bold letters "Lifetime", complete with it's respected fonts. I don't thing male fans would want to buy it, neither would generation Y or any younger generation. Just wish they wouldn't use the "Lifetime" logo on the DVD to sell it.

I'll be sure to look for it on DVD; even though I have it on tape, it would be so cool to have it on dvd, with Nancy's picture on the front and everything. Kadeliah, thanks for the information!

Has anyone bought this yet, or even seen it in stores? Where should I look for it (Best Buy, Walmart, Target, Blockbuster)?

I actually bought it on Friday. It was the last copy left at Target. (I was surprised) I didn't mind buying it with the Lifetime logo on it. lol I actually had it in a basket that I carried for awhile then had my boyfriend and then my brother carry because they were loading it down with other stuff. Comfort & Joy with it's big LIFETIME logo sitting face up on the top. lol
It has about a half hour of interviews with the Cast as a bonus on it. Definitely worth $14

I went to Target on Friday to buy it, and there were no copies left. I've seen it many times at Target, but haven't had enough money to buy it. There weren't any there though, there wasn't even a space for the Lifetime movies. They didn't stop selling them, did they?

No, because I just got my copy from Border's Books & Music. If you can't find it in a store, I'm sure you could find it on Amazon.com or something.

If you can't find it at Target's, then go to Best Buy, or even Fry's Electronics. They've got most everything. I just got my copy of it last week at Best Buy. You're right about Target's. Target's, just like Wal-Mart, will carry a particular movie title for a while, then suddenly stop carrying it on stock after awile, no matter how many people want it bad. There've been many movie titles released in the last few years that I just couldn't find at all at the Wal-Mart or Target's, but ended up always finding it at Best Buy.
