I have them all on tape and more than one version of several episodes. For anyone watching the show in the U.K. now, is it being shown uncut? When it was syndicated in the US, it was usually edited by a couple minutes to get more commercial time in. It's frustrating to watch syndicated versions vs. original versions when you know what you're missing!

It varied by episode. Sometimes it was a little scene here and there. Sometimes it was one of the openings that Cybill and Bruce did to start the show. You probably wouldn't usually miss it if you didn't know it was there in the original. Sometimes they would just cut right to a conversation when the original had a little lead in that would set the scene better. Different channels edited it differently, too.

Well here in Holland they'd cut out most of the intro's and special ends like the bloopers and stuff.
I didn't know it existed until I checked Cindy's site!
I still haven't seen the intro on Symphony when Maddie dances to the Temptations

As far I am aware its uncut. There are no commercials on ABC1 (except when they trail their own shows) so there wouldn't be any gain I suppose. I haven't seen the season 1 originals though so I can't compare.

I have all of the episodes on tape from the Lifetime airings in late 1989/1990. Does anyone know if much stuff was cut out when Lifetime aired the episodes? I know I have Maddie and The Temptations.

By the way, I have them on tape, but unfortunately some of them are not viewable due to bad tracking, and some of the tapes are just worn out. I end up listening to them instead of viewing them.

I NEED DVDS NOW!

From what I can tell based on converstions with others, the Lifetime episodes weren't edited as much as the Bravo episodes.

Here is a Bravo edit that to me is really detestable and takes away from the episode. My Fair David when Maddie comes into the office and tries to prove to Miss Dipesto and the staff how she can be funny too. She tries to tell the joke about the duck.... if this scene is in the Lifetime episodes, good for them. Bravo cuts it.

Also when Trip to the Moon aired, I was told that Bravo cut the scene where Maddie awakes and is contemplating David sleeping in her bed. I think they start the scene right after that when Maddie is sitting at her vanity putting on makeup and David is in the shower singing.

In The Next Murder You Hear Bravo cut the whole scene that shows Maddie at her house at night....this is scored to the wonderful Smokey Robinson song OOOOO Baby, Baby. Many ML viewers who have only ever seen Bravo episodes have no idea that song was used very effectively in Moonlighting.

And there are tons more... some in each and every episode.

I have them all on tape. After my son was born Moonlighting was on Bravo and since I stayed home with him I was able to tape them all. Luckily I have all of them and watch them whenever I get the spare time. Which is not much lately. Hubby is a doll though. He is working on getting them on DVD for me so that I can watch them easier while I am on the computer.
