Default Why is David Letterman acting so childish because Conan will take over the Tonight

Show in 2009?-LOL Dave has been making jokes about Jay Leno in his monolouge all week and doesn't realize how stupid he looks. He needs to just accept that Conan will be the Host in 2009 and deal with it.

I don't think you understand. It sounds like you've interpreted from Letterman that he wishes to take over the Tonight Show. That's not the case. He hasn't wanted to take over that show since he announced he was moving to CBS in early 1993.

He seems to be happy for Conan that he's going to be taking over the Tonight Show.

All due respect, the New York Post is not a very reliable source at all, especially their "Page Six" gossip column.

I think he is a little bitter about it. As I recall, he really wanted the position after Johnny left and was pretty pissed off when they gave it to Leno. That's why he left NBC.

Oh, absolutely. I'm not saying he's not still bitter about Leno getting The Tonight Show. But once he started The Late Show all his aspirations to helm Tonight went away (but the bitterness didn't).

He doesn't seem to have anything but nice things to say about Conan, though.

I also read that Dave and Jay have not spoken to each other since 1992

I think the whole thing is that Dave would've liked Conan to move to CBS.
