geez, i must have been like 12 or 13 the last time i saw this case featured on UM, but for some reason (probobly the same reason this msg board exists) it has stuck wtih me all these years...i think from the first season...anyway from what i remember it was about a very shy and anti-social woman who dissappeared without a trace while taking the subway (?). what was so strange to me was the way her husband was talking about her. when he was interviewed it was as if he couldnt care less about the entire thing. from what i recall he even said something to the affect of "well, eventhough shes gone, things are fine and im doing good" which struck me as very bizarre and suspicious even then.

sorry, my memory is fuzzy and thats all i can remember...does this story sound familiar to anyone?

Yes, that is the Dottie Caylor case. It was on UM just a few days ago. I agree, her husband really honks me off the way he talked about what an inconvenience its been for him since she disappeared. I've seen a few fairly recent articles about this case and she's never been found. I absolutely believe her husband killed her!

I think that the husband did it. He showed no emotion throughout the whole segment.

Well, just because he showed no emotion doesn't mean he did it... remember that lady in Australia whose daughter was carried off by wild dingoes, and she was icily calm before the police and cameras, so "everyone knew" she "did it" and it wasn't until the girl's bones were found and some other stories of children carried off by dingoes were proved, that she was believed? Sometimes people get like that and can't or won't show any emotion in front of others. Then they go off and have hysterics in private, sometimes months later. Men and women both do this.

I do think his attitude leaves something to be desired. Like, maybe she was making his life hell with her unusual ways, so he's glad she's out of his life, but he doesn't have to act like having her disappear was the best thing that could have happened and he isn't going to bend heaven and earth to help look for her. She's a human being, for God's sake. I've known men like this and they weren't guilty of a damn thing but being a jackass. Maybe that's why she left.

Dottie Caylor was declared dead a few months ago. A judge made that ruling due to the fact that it's been 19 years since her disappearance. Her husband Jule is convinced that she will come back to her life soon because according to him, she has written him and her friends letters about this. I think he's full of @#$%&*!!! He knows what happened to her.
