Post What's the attraction??

Now, before I ask my question I just want to make perfectly clear that I have no intention of getting anyone upset or angry about this.

All I want to know is what is the attraction to this show. I've read posts on these message boards from people who are totally in love with this show. What hooked you? Why?

This may be a stupid question but I just don't see anything funny about this show. The physical comedy just seems so staged and it seems to me that I Love Lucy did it much better.

"Three's Company" attracted me simply because it was funny. Another thing that attracted me to the show was Suzanne Somers and John Ritter. The very first time I watched Suzanne was on "Step by Step". I thought she was great in it and I liked that show a lot. The first time I watched John Ritter was on "Problem Child" and I thought he was great at playing the father. My favorite movie of John Ritter is "Problem Child 2". Anyways, what led me to "Three's Company" was the fact that I enjoyed Ritter in "Problem Child", and Somers in "Step by Step" and I wanted to see more of them. I thought "Three Company" was going to be a great option to see both Somers and Ritter again and so I began watching "Three's Company". Ever since, I have been a great fan of "Three's Company".

The physical comedy might be staged but it's still funny to me. I just like the show because I enjoy it and it makes me happy and laugh. If you want to know what REAL attraction is, you should go to the Facts of Life board. Man, there's a lot of obsessed people in there. (not that that's bad )

What attracted me to it was how funny they were. I think the cast has great chemistry that makes it different from other shows. Not a lot of sitcoms do physical comedy to the extent of '3s', the only ones that come to mind right now are "I Love Lucy" and "Laverne & Shirley." And they used a great play on words, and they made it pretty innocent (No one does anything on the show). I thought they had some great actor (They must have been doing something right if the producers of "The Jeffersons" liked how the show evolved and Don Knotts & Lucy herself liked it), especially (JMHO) John Ritter, Don Knotts, Suzanne Somers, Jenilee Harrison, Norman Fell, and Audra Lindley, and the rest were good too!

Back in '97 and '98 (the summers) I watched Three's on my local WB affiliate (WNOL) at 11:00 and 11:30am (central).
Then when NAN picked it up I started watching bits and peices. Then the beginning of this summer started the obsession.I came to the TC-FF board and wanted in with the spin-off biz.I started watching to get more info on the show.I've loved it ever since!

well i been watching I Love Lucy all my life. and i always loved the show, but i wanted something else to watch. When Nick At Nite picked up TC, they put Lucy on a later time and my mom said, watch this show, its alot like Lucy. so i watched it and fell in love with it. I think the characters are great, its funny and its none of that dry humor. After watching the same show for 10 years, u wanna see something new, and when i saw Three's company, it was my new show.
