Earlier today at the 1PM (PT) airing of UM, one of the cases shown was the mysterious killing of 2 sea lions. That particular segment was interrupted by technical difficulties, so I was unable to know what happened. Does anybody know the complete details of the case and if it was solved?

Well, here's the confusing part. Bruno and Bobo's case had an update. It said one person served short jailtime and the other was fined, and had to do community service. But the update still asked if anyone had any info. Why? I don't know!

I remember the case. I seem to remember an update, but I can't be sure. I'll try to check later tonight and see if the 1pm ET was interrupted as well(the whole 12pm show had occasional glitches, but it never went off, the picture just messed up).

My segment wasn't interrupted and the update said the killer of of Bobo was arrested but there was still no information of the killer of Bruno.

Wow, this segment was quite disturbing. I mean why would anyone want to kill innocent little sea lions who have done no one harm. I hope the bastard that killed Bruno will pay for what he did if not by the law, I believe in bad karma, what goes around comes around. It's a good thing that they got Bobo's killers. Those sea lions were so cute.

This story, as well as the one about the dog kennel that burned down, are both very disturbing even though there were no human casualties. Justin |

I've always believed if someone can torture or kill an innocent animal than doing so to a human isn't far behind. it doesn't matter to me if their "just animals". their still living creatures. you have to be seriously warped to torture or kill an innocent animal.
Oh and WTH with one of the killers getting community service?? are you kidding me?

I'm with you Orange Sody. There is something particularly disturbing about a person who will torture or kill helpless and trusting victims that are weak and have no ability to defend themselves, or no reason to suspect that they're in danger.
I think a normal human's first instinct, or maybe natural instinct, is to at least attempt to provide protection for weaker people or animals. IMO, these people aren't too far removed from choosing a human victim the next time. They seemed to kill for the thrill and took perverted pleasure in the fact that the animal trusted them. |

This case happened in my hometown, actually. I was SHOCKED the first time I saw it (well after the case had been filmed and the incidents had occured.) to see RS standing at the pier! I really wish the case had been completely solved. The sea lions are definitely not a close factor here anymore (I've never heard of people getting close to them and all that, but I don't spend that much time on the pier to be fair) probably because of the sick crimes that took place. The re-enactments make me so angry and want to actually go in and beat up the killers- it's just so cruel what they did to those poor animals. And for what reason? The sea lions weren't causing any problems and it makes so little sense. The sentences were far too light!

Yeah I couldn't remember which was which, I just know one of them was shot and the other was killed with some kind of explosive device, the guys who used the explosive device were caught, the gunmen never was.
I remember the reinactment of Bruno's shooting, the shadowy rifleman was kind of spooky. And that he hasn't been caught makes it more mysterious. My attitude towards him is the same as whoever was responsible for the Mabel Woods dog kennel fire, probably will never be caught and even if he was wouldn't serve much jail time but I hope he is in jail for some other crime or has had some other misfortune. Kharma is a ****. I mean the dog kennel fire was despicible but at least you saw a possible motive there with the loud barking. I mean its a disgusting reason to do what was done and its damn sure no excuse, but why in the world would anyone kill a sea lion? |

Two questions I have about this case were did the guys who were caught for Bobo's death ever admit a motive? I mean did they say why they did it? Was there something they had to gain by doing this, I mean were these animals some kind of attraction people came to see and it made a business rival money? I can't remember all the details of the segment if someone could fill me in I'd appreciate it.
Also, did they investigate the possibility these same guys might have killed Bruno to? Just because they used two different weapons doesn't neccessarily mean they didn't do it to. Hard to believe two different sets of people would do something this senseless. |
