It was an overcast weekday evening at about 5:30 in the early Spring of 1985. We had been living in our new house for about two months at this point and I was four months from turning nine years old. I was the next street over from us, doing what, I don't remember, when out of the front door of a house on the corner a man came staggering out of the front door holding his chest. I could tell by the look on his face that he was in pain. His wife came out after him and she was screaming. The man then fell down onto the lawn and died right across the street from where I was standing.

When I got lost in the Berkshire Mountains skiing... my lovely friends forget they were supposed to wait for me, so I decided to go find them myself. It's like 9:15 at night, pitch black. The strange thing is, I know that particular mountain with my eyes closed- but in the dark, it's so much harder. I finally found my way back to the lodge and ran in and just started crying on my mom. I heard coyotes howling, and ughh... I was just petrified.

I was sitting in my car at a stop light and there was a bus stop with a man and women waiting for the bus. Behind the bus stop was a building with some bushes. I then see a lady walk up to the man at the bus stop and she was talking to him. All of a sudden 3 guys with guns come out from the bushes and told the man at the bus stop to freeze. Heck I froze too. Scared the life out of me. I never saw the guys in the bushes and I was only 10 yards away. The light turned green and I took off.

Something scary to me; has to be that I'm afraid I'll lose control over the situation...having experienced childbirth twice au naturel is one of those moments

Almost seeing a serious car accident happen right in front of me. This was a few years ago, when I was about 14 or 15.
Somebody I know from school told me a similar story to yours, dukey. Not about the heart attack thing, but dying in front of you...She was eating at Applebee's with her significant other one evening. There was an old man sitting at the next table from them. He got his food order, started eating and then all of a sudden he started choking. He couldn't stop choking- his face turned blue, then he fell out of his chair and continued choking. All of a sudden, he stopped breathing. His waitress came out to her section and yelled, "IS THERE A NURSE OR DOCTOR IN THE HOUSE?" and then somebody came and tried performing CPR on him...but it was too late at that point, he'd already choked to death, right in front of her and her SO. Her SO wanted to leave immediately- they didn't want to think about the fact they'd just seen somebody die right in front of them. This was about 2-3 years ago.

The scariest moment for me, was when my car was in park and it jumped into reverse, and I tried to stop it by trying to jump in, and was knocked down by the door and the car kept backing out into the street and somehow I rolled away in time before I was rolled over.
To this day everytime I think about it, I still can't believe it happened and that I survived.

My right rear tire blew out going 70 mph on the interstate. Fortunately it was a rear, so I didn't lose control or anything. I had to stop on a freakin off ramp though. I should have coasted the car further down, but at the time I didn't think of it. I called my mom...she went home to get my dad. It took like 40 mins. After she left work, I couldn't get a hold of either one of them again and this sheriff that stopped kept telling me to keep trying. Then I had to walk thru mud because the sheriff wanted me as far from the car as possible...which was thru the mud and up a huge hill.
I swear I was never so scared in my life. I went home and almost threw up. |

Same thing happened to me, but I was going a little faster, and I was in the fast lane; but fortunately for I, was still able to pull over to the other side of the freeway and wait for a tow truck... |

When I was 11 and I was helping out at this stable I used to ride at. I just got done with a lesson and was trying to take off my boots when this boy who also rode there ran up to me out of breath saying that three ponies had escaped two of them were a mare and her filly. By that time they were all the way down the road. The boy grabbed a halter and we ran. It turns out that this girl who was 6 years old at the time accidentaly let them out. She was running with us and we also got an older girl to help us out. I almost fainted when I saw the three ponies go into the neighbors yard. I thought Boy were we in trouble. The older girl told me and someone else to stay at the edge of the yard so the ponies wouldn't run back into the road. Well it turns out they did but they didnt stop when they were running towards me. So I jumped out of the way and we continued the chase. I screamed when I saw the filly wander in to the road. In front of a car. Luckily the car stopped but the driver wasn't too happy. The ponies wandered into a wooded area where we finally got them, but the idiot boy grabbed the largest halters in the stable for minature ponies, so we had to carefully lead them back to the stable.

Oh, I remember this day just ****ing swell
![]() Took place in 8th grade. Depression really hit me that year and I'd cry almost everyday before school because I just didn't want to face people and the stress and I just couldn't take it. So, it was getting that I was absent alot...so my mom was getting nervous, and of all things, called my dad who's...well, ****ing crazy. So, he comes...I'm hiding because I know the guys going to go nuts, I'm crying my eyes out, and he's trying to drag me out of the door. To top it off, I have major anxiety, so I couldn't breath either...he was squeezing me so hard to get me out the door I got bruises...and no, he's usually NOT abusive like that, he's just obviously capapable. Hmm, so I'm literally thrown out the door and forced to get into his car, still not being able to breath, still crying...he drives me there and wants me to get out and go inside, even though I have tears running down my face and I look like a wreck. No way I was going in there, I felt AWFUL. So I got so pissed and so scared, I walked right out of that door and headed to my aunts house where my mom would be...scared as hell and knowing he'd be coming after me, HOLY HELL MY LUCK my mom was driving down the road and I got into the car and we drove home where the cops were waiting, because she had called. We all had to talk to them, and the rest is history. Thought I was going to ****ing die or something that day. I just felt so awful. |
