Lifetime is showing old episodes...finally! - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Wow! I've been really impressed at some of the old episodes that Lifetime has been showing. In fact, the 11:00 (central) episode today was the very special hosted by Robert Stack, according to the episode guide. The stories included: Shannon Mohr, Aileen Conway, Dottie Caylor and Glenn and Bessie Hyde.

I hope Lifetime keeps this up!

This is great! I got a reply from that e-mail I sent, and they asked for specific episode titles, so I just named some good ones from '87-'93! If we keep this up, maybe they will "revive" most of these ones.

Today's episodes were the first two Robert Stack episodes. I was VERY encouraged to see them as well. It's so cool to see how different the show was then. I love the old ones. Hopefully they'll keep it up.

This is excellent! I've been watching UM for 2 years now and it's very cool to see the older episodes, most of which I've never seen before.

I Just hope they show the Blind River Rest Stop murder Episode, since its from the '93 season. I recorded it once then accidentally recorded over it

Ive been recording everyday now hoping to see that one again so I can re-add it to my UM tape collection.

I've been taping as well. The earlier cases were always more interesting to me and the murder cases were much more scary for some reason. Maybe because of the lighting and music...whatever.

Some early cases I hope they show soon.....

*The woman in Connecticut who was driving to work down a country road who pulled up behind a man in a black truck. For reasons only known to himself, he got out and shot her in the face through her drivers side window. (She survived)

*The music writer from Nashville who was gunned down when he and his friend were entering their car. (The friend survived)

*The Blind River Rest stop killings.

*The Dennis Depue case, killed his wife, buried the bloody blanket in the yard of an old abandonned school house on Easter Sunday.

*The 3 ATV riders who were gunned down in the woods of Tennessee.

*John Weldon Smith from Las Vegas who killed his wife and two step daughters as they slept in the middle of the night and tried to kill another person in the house but he escaped by running through the glass door. (He's been caught)

*The haunted house in Nevada, the scariest haunting story they ever did but STUPIDLY left off the DVD ghosts collection.

The D.B. Cooper story was on at Noon today and then at 1pm was the story of the guy who was found dead in 2 different house fires years apart.

I was hoping to tape that episode of the newspaper guy named Charlie in Sacramento. The reason why is because he was from Pittsburgh, not far from where I live. But I got compensation today: Clarence Roberts & D.B. Cooper.

I really like either the oldest episodes or the most recent ones. The episodes I dread seeing are the ones where the opening credit letters come up really fast like someones' tapping on a typewriter. Those cases were weak and boring with only a few exceptions to me. Also I didn't think the episodes where the disclaimer was in pink were all that, either. And it seems like Lifetime loves playing those the most as if they're "fillers".

The case regarding Joe Smith is very scary. Arrogance was written all over his face in that courtroom and it irked me to no end.

I think 2 of the ATV riders died by their own hand, the third is supposedly still on the run.

The post that indicated Lifetime asked for specific show titles made me envision an employee heading to the basement, or equivalent, and searching a shelf or a cabinet for old VCR tapes. Most likely they grabbed a pile of tapes from the entire lot many years ago and randomly replayed them ever since.

I've worked at both radio and TV stations. Believe me, that's very representative of how things can happen.
