Default Two stories I need more info on...Rapper Lathan Williams and Katherine Kouzilius

Do you know these stories?

Lathan Williams an up and coming rapper...his girlfriend was found murdered in the family home and the house on fire...but the baby born Le Zahn was abducted...by two girl suspects..no sign on the baby since.

Katherine Kouzilius a young child found lying on the road by her mother after going to get the mail. Her body was found in a perfect position, with clothes neat etc...she was pronounced brain dead. She was found in a different direction from where she should have been. Jon Bon JOvi was seen on this episode as family friend.

If anyone knows any info or outcomes on these cases..it would be much appreciated....they keep showing the episodes here in australia in stranger order...not sure when they were from.

Default A link on a May 2004 article on Le-Zhan case

http://www.nctimes.com/articles/2004..._045_20_04.txt

Here's the entire May 2004 article on the Le-Zhan case:

VALLEJO -- A woman accused of kidnapping a 3-week old boy after killing his mother has been convicted and faces up to 25 years to life in prison.

On Wednesday a jury found Latasha Brown, 23, of Vallejo, guilty of murder, kidnapping and enhancements for using a firearm.

She is expected to be sentenced on July 15 for killing Daphne Boyden, 17, on May 1996, and fleeing with Boyden's son, Le-Zhan Williams.

Authorities say the attack was motivated by jealousy and revenge.

Brown was the ex-girlfriend of Le-Zhan's father, rapper Lathan Williams, authorities said. Her cousing, Ocianetta Williams, who is not related to the boy's father, pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and kidnapping and testified against Brown in exchange for a sentence of nearly 14 years.

Witnesses testified that Brown shot Boyden several times before setting her corpse and home ablaze. Brown and Ocianetta Williams then fled out of state with the baby.

Brown raised the boy as her own under a false name until he was found unharmed in 2002.

Police received a tip in 2002 that informed them the boy was living in California with Brown and her mother, Delores Brown.

Delores Brown received a year in jail in 2003 after pleading no contest to child concealment.

Sad No updates on Katherine Korzilius

I haven't been able to find anything that would suggest any receny developments in the death of Katherine Korzilius. So unfortunately, it is very probable that the case is still unsolved.

So far as I know, this is still unsolved. Interestingly enough, Bon Jovi wrote a song about the case. I believe it was called "August 7, 4:15". That would be a reference to the date and time her body was found. I once downloaded an MP3 of it from Kazaa, or one of the other file sharing networks just to hear what it sounded like (I'm not a Bon Jovi fan).

The Lathan Williams case has always been chilling if not fascinating! The scariest part is the composite sketches of the two girls- one had one of those coat hood flaps over her face and I got goosebumps it looked so sinister. The last time I saw the case it was updated so they didn't include the sketches (shoot!). I've know girls similiar to the ones involved, believe me, so although it kind of hit close to home for me it was still an usual crime for the unwaranted brutality from young girls. It makes you wonder about Latasha Brown- on one hand she's evil enough to murder and set fire to an innocent person, then on the other hand she's not evil enough to kill a baby, but loving ENOUGH to raise it as her own!

On a related note, did anyone notice how many times Lathan said, "You-know-what-I'm-sayin' " in his interview? I wanted to scream! I think he might have been getting paid by the "you-know-what-I'm-sayin' ", LOL. Also, one of those girls involved was not cute, I think she was the cousin. I'd probably be murderous too if I looked like an angry little boy!

Wink I totally agree!

Yes that Lathan character dod say "you know what I'm sayin" a bit too much. I agree with Dallas who said they wanted to scream, cuz I did too! My dad caught this episode with me, and he could not stop laughing at Lathat saying that over and over again, Sorry if my typing is a bit incoherrent, I just got out of night class and it was a nightmare!!!! And I'm a bit sleepy

Ah, jesus, the Korzilius murder.

No, there hasn't been any word on who killed that girl, but I know it was no accident (the lame explanation about her jumping on the rear of Mommy's land tank and falling off) and I am pretty sure why. Rock and roll is a damn dirty business, and sometimes a lot dirtier than we would like to believe. Jon Bon Jovi may have been involved in some things his fans aren't aware of. I think someone was trying to strike at him through his publicist.

Think about it. A little girl is murdered in broad daylight in a wealthy, probably gated subdivision and laid out pretty as a Christmas present for her mom to find. This had been planned for a long time.

I do think they will find them, but I think it may take a while.

Now I've got that damn tune crashing through my head ....

While not impossible, your theory about this one is really far fetched. Jon Bon Jovi has always had a reputation of being a family man and a stand-up guy.

It's much much more likely that poor Katherine was murdered by someone in her neighborhood. The area in which she lived is a very upscale suburban neighborhood in the Austin hills. The area is very isolated, as you can tell from the segment. Any "outsiders" casing the neighborhood (and they would have to case the neighborhood for days or weeks to become familiar with the patterns of the Korzillius family so they could get one of the children alone) would have been noticed by the neighbors immediately.

BTW, your post on the Amy Billig thread implied that you are related to her. Are you her brother?

No, Mom felt a kind of intellectual kinship to the case because Amy reminded her strongly of my sister.

What would be the motive for killing Kathy Korzilius other than something to do with JBJ? (no note or anything else ever having been received) If JBJ is so straight-arrow, perhaps he refused to go along with something dirty and this was the answer? Or perhaps this had to do with one of Mr. Korzilius' other clients?

I admit I'm indulging in too much guessing owing to the fact that there are no other clues (notes received, etc.) that have been released to the public.

I hope this doesn't come out as sounding snobby or flippant, but you would learn a lot about crime if you were to a) go to your local community college and sign up for criminology 101, or 2) watch Court TV a little bit every day. Your theory sounds like you've been watching way to many movies and reading way too many Tom Clancy novels.

When children die, it's overwhelmingly at the hands of a family member or acquaintance. Police start with possible suspects in the family, possible suspects in the neighborhood, and radiate out from there. Rarely does a conspiracy against a child's dad's boss result in his her death. When all the facts are in, the answer is usually way way more simple than you're suggesting. Motives don't have to be grand, they can be as simple and sordid as a failed attempt at sexual assault or teenagers on a dare.

I think one of two things happened...

1. Katherine was taken in a car by someone she knew willingly and something happened that made her want to jump out of the car OR...

2. She was taken unwillingly and she got out of the car to get away.

She probably thought she could stumble out and run away. Whoever did the driving proabaly got out and fixed her up, then drove away. Sick. Giving the area in which they lived, they had to know who she was and likewise.

Those are funny and valid theories; I also think it may have to do with marijuana smoking. Rappers are notorious pot heads and many are not shy about boasting about it in their music and even advertising it (wearing Phillies Blunts shirts and gold medallions shaped like the leaf). His mother was pretty articulate so I don't believe he inherited his lack of eloquence from his household. This is a compelling case but i don't watch it much simply because his tedious speech gets on my nerves.

Young Lay is actually one of my favorite rappers. He has 2 CDs, the first one is called Black N Dangerous, and the 2nd is called Unsolved Mysteries. His child was abducted and his girlfriend was killed shortly after he released his first CD. His 2nd CD contains soundbytes from the Unsolved Mysteries segment on it. He's a very good rapper. Too bad he's in jail right now for armed robbery.
