I'll be honest, I'm not a big fan of Amy Poeller. But who knows, the two might have some chemistry.

It wasnt bad at all, but Jimmy is a tough act to follow with how great they do.

Though, all the lesbian jokes Tina makes could be greatly improved now with another girl there.

I agree.

Although Phoeler is a little too off-the-wall.
Like.... we'd never Chris Farley hosting it, would we??

i've been a big fan of Amy Poeller ever since that skit with her and Chris Kattan and the "ima suck yer toe-thumb" bit, she seemed a little TOO excited but maybe she'll get better as she settles into the position

I've always loved Amy, she's one of my favorite castmembers. I think she did a good job, and she'll hopefully ease into the anchor position as time passes.

lmao

POEHLER: A Pakistani man who convinced his infertile wife to have an operation so they could have children was arrested after he got the doctors to cut out one of her kidneys instead, so he could sell it and then divorce her. Ugh, that's just rude.
FEY: Tell me about it. That's what Jimmy did to me. I thought he loved me, it turned out he was just trying to steal my kidney.
POEHLER: Oh my god. I'm sorry to hear that, Tina.
FEY: No, it's fine. I'm over it. Actually, I think this is gonna work out really well between me and you... because, it's got good energy. It's gonna be kinda cool.. like that movie Monster.
POEHLER: Yea..?
FEY: You saw that movie Monster, right?
POEHLER: Yea...are you gonna kill me?
FEY: No, I'm gonna kill other people and you're gonna be my girlfriend

I really miss Jimmy...but he's God in my world, I'm supposed to. And Amy is great on update, I would've never thought of her, but it turned out great.

As much as I love Don Pardo, I think it's time for him to hang it up. He pooched at least two names yesterday during the opening.

I also noticed "Rachel Ratch."

Don Pardo's voice is, indeed, classic. He was noticeably missing from the show in the early '80s. Maybe the powers that be should consider pre-recording his voice-overs shortly before airtime, instead of letting him do it live, to avoid screw ups. He's 86, after all, and mistakes are going to happen more frequently than they would have 30 years ago.

I recall an incident in 1995(?) when he announced Mark McKinney as "Mark McKean" in the opening credits.

Yeah, Don was absent during the 1981-82 season. I was glad to see him in that sketch last May on the season finale. That was the first time he's been seen on-screen in years. He used to appear briefly in sketches quite often. I remember he also used to talk over the closing credits a lot too.

I don't think the Debbie Downer sketch did as well as the show had hoped. I thought it was funny, but the studio audience didn't seem to laugh very much, plus the cast members weren't cracking up like last time. As much as I hate to say it, I don't think we'll be seeing another Debbie Downer sketch for a while.
