I'm dying here. I don't know what to do with myself. I get dizy and then fall asleep for a few hours. I get all this sleep and I still have no energy. Everything hurts. Thats been the highlight of my week. and the doctor told me today it's only going to get worse.
I'll stop my bitching now. Share mono stories. |

I had mono when I was in the 9th grade. It started like a terrible sinus infection. Then it became the worst soar throat I have ever exeprienced before or since. Then it went into that thing you're talking about: no energy. I'd staqger to the bathroom when I had to and then go back to bed. That was about all there was to my life. That part went on for several weeks. It was like I didn't exist anymore. I was allowed to leave school in May (more than a month before the school year ended). My grades were good so they passed me without finishing the year based on the grades I had at that time. It was an awful experience. I feel for you. Hang in there.

I had a really severe case back in 1999; I was literally bedridden for almost an entire month; you are so weak, and you feel like you are dying (literally), I also lost like 20 pounds... |

Due to the, erm, close-knit nature of a lot of people from my former HS, almost a fourth of the school had it at almost the same time last year.

I had mono from 4th-7th grade. Talk about long... 3 years. I could only stay out of school so long. Three years of a constant sore throat, three years of dragging my feet out of bed, three years of sleeping in class... then on top of it, I caught chronic bronchitis in the middle of it, and had that for about 6-7 months.
Actually, if you gave me a blood test right now, it would come up negitive for mono, as I don't have it anymore- but the virus actually stays in your blood stream for a good 2-3 years. It's a pain in my ass. I caught it from sharing a Coke with my cousin. To this day, I still share drinks with people. You think after all that, I would have learned by now, honestly... |
