I could only get it down to eleven, I really tried to narrow it down to ten, but I just couldn't. And since I really am bored tonight, here they are, along with my own personal commentary:
1) The Best Years of Our Lives Best Picture of 1946, I've always loved this movie, ever since I first saw it when I was stuck in bed with the flu. This movie and chicken soup cured me ![]() 2) Amadeus - Best Picture of 1984. I'm a complete opera nut, and this is one of the most beautiful films ever made, about one of the most gifted men that ever lived. 3) Arthur - Just an honestly funny movie, with three of the best actors in the biz. 4) Love Letters (1945) - it's a pretty strange movie, but it's got a great plot and a knockout performance by Jennifer Jones. 5) Sense and Sensibility - nominated for Best Picture of 1995. It's not the best movie ever made, but it made me love Jane Austen, so high marks for that. 6) Sleeping Beauty (Disney) - ignore me, I'm just in love with Prince Phillip. 7) Vertigo - oh, I'm distantly related to the master, Alfred Hitchcock, and this was always my personal favorite of his movies. Impossible to discribe. 8) All About Eve - Best Picture of 1950, and just an amazing movie. Very famous and deservedly so. And Marilyn Monroe made her film debut in it ![]() 9) How to Steal a Million - I can't believe this movie isn't more famous. It's my personal favorite performance from Peter O'Toole and Audrey Hepburn. A sweet romantic comedy - oh just see it. For Peter's eyes if nothing else! 10) The Pirate - my favorite Judy Garland movie. It has to be, because not only is she hysterical, her character is exactly like me. I'm serious. Everyone in my family agrees. You ever want to know what I'm really like, watch this movie. 11) The Ghost and Mrs. Muir - you can't find a better forbidden love story. And everyone agrees it's a romance, despite the fact that the hero and heroine never kiss or even touch each other. |

1. Stand By Me
2. Fight Club 3. American History X 4. Akira 5. Angel Heart 6. The Lost Boys 7. The Goonies It's getting too difficult to put them in any kind of order now. But Trainspotting, Go, Donnie Darko and probably about 5 others that I can't remember would be on that list aswell. What's the deal with everyone mentioning 'The Breakfast Club'? That movie is so overrated. It's just a bunch of spoilt brats sitting in a room and complaining about how nobody understands them! |
