Default question about the final episodes of TCY

When they made the last few episodes of SBTB: TCY, did the producers know that they were going to be the end, or was there still hope that the show would be back for a second season?

That would be interesting if that were the case, to see where the story would have gone into a new season of episodes with the way the plot had developed.

I think NBC told the producers in advance that the show was going to be canceled, which in a way it was good. This show had a great finale.

Yeah, they knew. That's why they planned for Zack and Kelly to be married. If you think about it, they were officially back together for two episodes and then an episode later Zack proposed. I think they would have had more of a triangle with Laskey, Zack, and Kelly if the show would have continued.

That's debatable. Especially if you are referring to the Las Vegas wedding movie, which was completely abysmal, IMO.

Having said that, though, it was nice they were able to wrap up the story, and give it something of a conclusion, rather than just having the show cancelled and dissapear without a proper ending.

But, as barb1696 pointed out, the finale seemed a little hurried, like the producers of the show rushed through the plotlines to get to some sort of logical conclusion. I would agree that, if they had been given more time, they would have drawn out the story a little more, and been able to do a better job building to the climax of the series. I would rather have seen things end up that way, but it doesn't sound like the producers had much choice.

So at least they did get a proper finale, and that's a very good thing. But it still doesn't change my opinion that Wedding In Las Vegas is one of the worst (if not the worst) SBTB episode/special ever produced.

Yeah...I liked the movie...BUT I wish it was completely different LOL If that makes any sense. I love the idea of them getting married and it's great they got to do it in a movie...but I hated the whole thief story, and I didn't really like having them in jail. I just wish it was a movie where it was them planning the details of their wedding, us seeing them nervous and everyone going crazy, and a real wedding. And to see them a little more after the wedding. We didn't even get to see Zack and Kelly alone by themselves after the wedding.

A lot of people disagree with me, but I don't feel it's complete. But I guess it had to be that way. I am glad they got married though. That's partial closure for me, but there's still something missing.

Of course it isn't THE best finale ever, but compared to other sitcoms, the ending wasn't bad.

Yes, I totally agree. At least we got an ending. We could have been left hanging wondering who Zack and Kelly ended up with, etc. And we got to see Lisa...and even Jessie for a few minutes.

Why wasn't Leslie at Zack/Kelly's wedding?! Did the actress have problems with returning, or...?

I always wondered about that as well. Maybe Anne Tremko couldn't make it, and the producers simply didn't mind.
