Default This would have been a good idea

During the last 2 seasons of S&S, obvious the show was getting tired. They were running out of ideas, making crappy episodes, they should have shifted the show to the unseen pool hall Fred always talked about. Just like Archie Bunker was shifted to the bar when that show got old, It would have been fun to see Fred and his buddies at the pool hall. The show probably would have lasted at least two more years.

In a sense that would be nice, but it also would set up false expectations and the mythical pool hall would fall short.

How about any sort of diversion- even a brand new one, just made up?

or just more Rollo period; he was one of my favorite supporting characters, and he was hilarious when he was playing againest Redd Foxx...

I never liked in the last two seasons that they were trying to make Fred and Lamont more "civilized" shall we say. The entire "Janet" and "Sanford Arms" story lines were so stupid as well as that gastly "Hawaiian Connection" trilogy. The first two seasons were just so perfect with just the two of them with a couple of extra characters (Rollo, Julio, Esther) thrown in here and there.

The Hawaiian episodes were absolutely horrible. Horrible lines, horrible acting, horrible story-line, horrible everything. I get the impression while I'm watching those episodes that their hearts weren't really in it any longer at that point. Filming those episodes on location in Hawaii was probably the only thing that kept them going. The Sanford Arms aspect could have worked better but I agree that they were probably just worn out by then and just totally coasting along at that point.

My question is this: I would assume that S & S must be selling well or else they would not have issued the entire series practically in season sets. I mean look at Mary Tyler Moore, for example. They issued the first season and stopped after that because it didn't sell well. Thus, I can only assume that S & S sold very well or else they wouldn't keep issuing the sets. So, my question is this: since S & S sold so well, I wonder if there would be a possiblility that they could issue ANOTHER set after the sixth season set which featured the "Sanford Arms" episodes and "Fred" episodes?????? I wonder if there would ever be a possibility that they could do that?????

Rollo's mother would have been a good idea. Those hawaiian episodes were horrible. I could have done without Rodney. He was corny.

Sanford Arms could never sell because Fred wasn't in the show and the only character that would be on the front cover of the DVD would be Aunt Esther and i think you know what would happen after that-lol

Default Oh Geez!!

How could i forget about those awful Rodney and Frances characters. Not to mention Elroy, Hutch, and Hoppy's mother living in a ghetto.
Mrs Hopkins: "Living with my black brothers and black sisters....and RED ANTS!!"
Fred: "I've told you....i've told you before...NO PETS!!"

Fred: You're a store detective, aren't you?

Mae Hopkins: Yes, I'm in charge of the lingerie department. And in all my years on the job, I'm proud to say that no one has ever *ripped off* one of my bras.

Fred: I can believe that.

I loved the look on Fred's face when Hoppy and his mother started singing. He looked like he wanted to throw up!
