Just about every top 40 single from 1980 to 1987 except anything from Night Ranger or 99 Luftballons by Nena, Shakedown by Bob Seger or Heart & Soul by T'Pau. I absolutely hated those songs, but liked pretty much everything else. Too many to mention.
orange head, Sweet Dreams was the Eurythmics, not Annie Lennox solo. Brian, In The Air Tonight was a Phil Collins solo single, not Genesis. (yes, I'm being technical.) |

The 80s had some good records:
Biggest Part of Me- Ambrosia This Is It- Kenny Loggins Just the Two of Us- Grover Washington Jr/Bill Withers In the Name of Love- Bill Withers/Ralph McDonald And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going- Jennifer Holliday 100 Ways- Quincy Jones feat James Ingram Give Me the Night- George Benson Special Lady- Ray Goodman and Brown Forever Mine- O'Jays Shining Star- Manhattans I'll Never Find Another (Another Like You)- Manhattans And the Beat Goes On- Whispers Fantastic Voyage- Lakeside Her Town Too- James Taylor/JD Souther Show Me- Glenn Jones Aint Nobody- Rufus and Chaka Khan I can't narrow it down to 10 or 20. There are at least 100 records from this decade that I'd rate very highly. |

Here's a shamelessly non-scientific list. Ask me tomorrow, and I'll probably give you an entirely different list of songs.
Trying to limit it to one song per artist: 20. "I'll Wait" - Van Halen 19. "I Believe In Miracles" - Ramones 18. "My Brave Face" - Paul McCartney 17. "Heaven" - Carl Wilson 16. "Rebels" - Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers 15. "One" - Metallica 14. "I Want It All" - Queen 13. "Owner Of A Lonely Heart" - Yes 12. "Rain On The Scarecrow" - John Mellencamp 11. "Atlantic City" - Bruce Springsteen 10. "Start Me Up" - The Rolling Stones 9. "Where The Streets Have No Name" - U2 8. "This Is Love" - George Harrison 7. "Don't Stand So Close To Me" - The Police 6. "It's The End Of The World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine)" - R.E.M. 5. "Handle With Care" - The Traveling Wilburys 4. "Don't Let's Start" - They Might Be Giants 3. "Love And Mercy" - Brian Wilson 2. "Don't Ask Me Why" - Billy Joel 1. "Watching The Wheels" - John Lennon |
