RELATED BY FAMILY: This series from VICTOR FRESCO centers on several teen characters who work and hang out at the mall food court. There is 18-year-old, optimistic-but-not-ambitious LAZ (ZACHARY KNIGHTON); his 16-year-old angst-ridden and angry stepsister, MOLLY (SAIGE THOMPSON); Laz’s best friend FRED (CHARLIE FINN); and Laz’s new girlfriend LILY (RACHELLE LEFEVRE). Home base for Laz and Molly is a blended family formed by the marriage of Laz’s dad, RICK (MATTHEW GLAVE), and Molly’s mom, MICHELLE (AMY YASBECK). Rick and Molly love all of their children, but they are particularly obsessed with the only product of their union together: the sweet, perfect and wise 8-year-old GUS (KURT DOSS).

Episodes
Season One

Ep1: Pilot Episode:
It's the first day of school for the kids. It's Laz's (and Fred's, and Lily's) first day of 12th grade [senior year]. It's Molly's first day of 10th grade [sophomore year]. It's Gus's first day of 2nd grade. Molly must cope with her best friend from last year not being at her school (since she moved over the summer).

Ep2: Days And Nights:
Fred's parents leave for the weekend. Fred decides to have a small party which turns into a big party disaster. Laz and Lily have a little too much to drink and spend the night at Fred's house...and wake up in the same bed wondering if things happened or not. (but they didn't). Gus's teacher calls Rick and Michelle to have a meeting with her about Gus's behavior.

Ep3: The Ex-Girlfriend:
Laz's ex-girlfriend, Sarah (Sara Paxton) shows up while Laz is out to the movies with Lily. Lily becomes jealous of how Sarah is wanting to get back with Laz even though she knows Laz is dating Lily. Michelle and Rick are sick of Molly moping around the house all weekend and tell her to get out and make new friends. Molly bumps into Fred at the mall, they decide to hangout at the mall that weekend.

Ep4: Family Weekend:
Rick gets the weekend off, and makes plans for the whole family to go to Rick's brother, Jeff (Ted McGinley)'s cabin up north. Michelle and Gus get the flu and stay back home at the house to get better (and bond), as Rick takes (more like FORCES) Laz and Molly to come with him to the cabin. Molly has plans with Fred, as Laz has plans of going to Lily's volleyball tournment.

Ep5: Return Of Laz's Mom:
Laz's mom/Rick's ex-wife, Sheila (Crystal Bernard) shows up wanting Laz to be in her wedding in a few weeks. Laz agrees to it, even though he hasn't seen his mom in months and didn't know she was engaged. Rick and Michelle are eerie about letting Laz be in Sheila's wedding. Fred and Molly's friendship is turning more into a relationship than as planned, but they both aren't complaining.

Ep6: Second Honeymoon:
Rick and Michelle plan a second honeymoon to celebrate their 9th wedding anniversary. With their parents gone, Laz decides to throw a party at his house with Lily, Fred, and Molly. Molly and Fred share their first kiss together at the party, but Laz and Lily walk in on them kissing. Gus bribes Laz and Molly into letting him attend the party otherwise he'd tell rick and michelle on them.

Ep7: Pushing Limits:
Laz and Lily skip school to hangout at Laz's house (while everyone is at school or at work). Laz and Lily make out until it turns into having sex in Rick and Michelle's bedroom [due to the fact that their bed is bigger]. Meanwhile, Rick gets off early and comes home only to find Laz and Lily having sex in his and Michelle's bed. Rick and Laz have a huge arguement (Rick's side: Laz skipping school to have sex, Laz's side: Rick not giving them any privacy lately). Michelle comes home to a huge fight between her husband and stepson. Michelle gets herself involved, after learning that they used her and Rick's bedroom.

Ep8: Not-So-Happy Birthday:
It's Laz's 18th Birthday. Lily, Fred, and Molly decide to throw him a party, but Laz isn't too happy with his dad and Michelle getting involved in his personal life. Michelle and Rick learn while they were gone, there was a party at the house--gus spilled the beans.

Ep9: Moving Out?:
Laz looks into renting an apartment. Rick shows no sympathy with Laz wanting to move out, even though Michelle pleads for him not to go. Lily recieves a confession from Molly about her wanting to have sex with Fred as soon as possible. Fred and Molly do it, but get caught by Gus-who tells Michelle and Rick. Michelle is enraged that HER 16 year old daughter is having sex.

Ep10: Not Such Luck:
Laz has no luck with finding an apartment, and stays with his family. As Rick and Laz attempt to patch up things, Michelle and Molly butt heads over Molly having sex. Molly takes a pregnancy test, and comes up positive. The family freaks, including Lily and Fred! Michelle and Molly rush to the doctor for series of tests to see if Molly is really pregnant or not, results show Molly is not pregnant afterall. Molly and Michelle are relieved and have a heart-to-heart. Things go back to normal, or at least they are trying to get things back to normal again.
