Default "Plastic Fantastic Lovers"

"i can't help likin' what i'm wakin' up next to"

a man wants our heroes to get some dirt on the plastic surgeon who he claims deformed him. they meet his wife and know that she is seeing the doctor on the side.
they follow the wife. she went to kill the doctor. he's dead. but she didn't do it. the sceretary shows up to kill him. he's already dead. they meet the deformed man who has a chainsaw ready to kill him. but he's dead already. it turns out to be the butler.
the butler takes them on a chase to a room with models of noses and other body parts for comparison. he starts a plastic surgery model fight. i laughed hard when he grabbed the nose listed with the name "mark harmon" and threw it at dave.

bert almost shaves his beard to show agnes he loves her as it burns her skin.

I liked it when Maddie went to see the doctor and sat in the chair while they talked about the way she looked now..
Comes a litte close to real life, Dr. said she still had a perfect face..
And ofcourse the end! DROP DEAD GORGEOUS.....
Still don't get it why she didn't kiss him!!???

This isn't one of my favorites, but like most episodes I can still pick a couple parts I do like. My favorite scene is when they're in the van on surveillance and Maddie asks David what he thought of her when they first met. That whole exchange is sweet to me. Again, I think the "chase" went on too long. But I also liked the last scene. My only guess as to why they didn't kiss is that the writers were trying to tease us again like they did in the early seasons. I don't think it made much sense though because we'd obviously seen them go a lot further by then.

This to me is one of the most out-of-character uneven episodes of the 5th season.

The case is just downright creepy--not a typical Moonlighting case at all.... the guy should be calling lawyers for malpractice case not hiring detectives. Some of the lines written as jokes are much more blatant and vulgar than usual dialogue on Moonlighting...

I hate all the scenes involving the client and his silent servant and any time at his mansion. Maddie and David working that case seem so out of place.

I also think the pseudo-banter between them seems poorly written and fake. I can't imagine them saying some of the things they say to each other that is said in this episode. It is like each one is trying to insult the other for having had a relationship with each other.

And the final scene is not in character for them either..... I just don't think David would have ever been the one to not progress a kiss between the two of them....I think it was stuck on there to try to get a reaction out of the waning fans. Or to fake us all out.

This episode is plastic all right....but it is not very fantastic. I score it very low.

Yikes, Cindy -- I take it that you didn't like this episode?

How's Florida these days? We also suffered a little in Pennsylvania with 6 to 8 inch rainfall and some pretty severe flooding. There were about 20 school districts closed today in my area of Pa. Fortunately the big baby "The Susquehanna" stayed within the dikes and didn't flood our area. If it did, you'd be looking at thousands and thousands of homes inundated (like in 1972 when Agnes hit). Our area really never recovered from that one.

I wish you the best. How did your son make out?

That has always been one of my all-time favorite lines from ML. Love it.
