Default Britney Spears Marries

http://apnews.excite.com/article/200...D856ST300.html

Spears Marries Dancer in Calif.

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Pop singer Britney Spears married her fiance, dancer Kevin Federline, in a surprise ceremony, it was reported Sunday.

The wedding was held Saturday evening at a private home in the Studio City area with 20 to 30 people attending, "Entertainment Tonight" said on its Web site.

Nicole King, a spokeswoman for BWR Public Relations, which represents Spears, did not immediately return a message seeking comment.

Spears, 22, and Federline, 26, announced their engagement in June after dating since early this year. It was the second marriage in nine months for Spears.

In January, she married childhood friend Jason Alexander in a surprise wedding in Las Vegas. That marriage was annulled 55 hours later.

Spears' record label, Jive, released a statement saying that Spears and Alexander took a joke too far. The bride wore a baseball cap and torn jeans down the aisle and was escorted by a casino limousine driver.

Federline appeared in the movie "You Got Served" and performed as a backup dancer for singer Justin Timberlake, Spears' former boyfriend.

He was previously involved with actress Shar Jackson of TV's "Moesha." They have two children - a 2-year-old and a newborn.

just unbelievable.

anyone else find it funny and intriguing that during the year of the gay marriage debate (and if it's making a mockery of marriage), the two most notorious celebrities to take marriage as a joke get married YET AGAIN, Britney and J. Lo.

funny thing is... her first husband was much better looking yet she ditched him as fast as possible and yet is committed to her skank man she has now.

I do hope the best for Brittney but I think she got married to fast.

She is young and she wanted to be married. I just hope this guy treats her good. I hope he doesn't treat her like he treated Shar Jackson.

Congrats to Britney and whatever his name is. I hope the groom wore his finest wife beater T shirt to the ceremony.

Wow, two marriages in one year for Britney.
That's got to be some kind of celebrity record.
Someone give Liz Taylor a call to confirm that.

You just said exactly what I was thinking!
Everyone is so scared that legalising gay marriage will destroy the sanctity of such a blessed institution and corrupt the minds of the youth. But the people who are really destroying the meaning of marriage and sending out the wrong message to kids are the so-called idols and pop-icons - who, I would like to stress, are all straight! - that the kids have been told to worship and aspire to by the media!

So Britney wants to marry some dead-beat dad - who cares? Let her make yet another disasterous mistake. I find it all rather amusing. Britney is as hott as the sun but, unfortunately, she's not quite as bright.

Angry "Sanctity of marriage"??

Yep, all the holy homophobes won't allow gays to marry, "it'll destroy Western Civilization as we know it!!" --and yet they allow such a whackjob as Little Miss Britney "I'm-part-of-the-True-Love-Waits-Yet-I'm-Not-That-Innocent" Spears get married--AGAIN.

I'd go look up what a dead beat Dad is. His babys mama said that he financially and personally even helps her out with her other 2 kids which he isn't even the father for. Pretty decent guy if you ask me, I sure as hell wouldn't be doing that for kids that weren't mine.

Britney Goes Bridal, One More Time

by Marcus Errico
Sep 19, 2004, 12:00 PM PT

Britney Spears sure is getting this bride thing down pat.

Nine months after a quickie Las Vegas wedding and annulment, the pop tart did it again, getting hitched to her dancer boyfriend, Kevin Federline, Saturday night.

Spears' publicist confirmed to E! that the pair got married in a small, family-only ceremony in the Los Angeles area.

According to broadcast and print reports, the nuptials were so hush-hush that relatives--including Britney's mom--didn't know until the last minute.

Earlier reports in the glossies suggested the duo was eyeing a mega-wedding (think 200 guests) in either Spears' home state of Louisiana or a posh, celeb-friendly spot in Los Angeles or Santa Barbara this fall; Star magazine said last week that invites had gone out for an Oct. 16 wedding. But the duo eschewed the glitz, instead swapping vows in a private residence in Studio City, California.

Britney's mom, Lynne, wasn't even in on Saturday's under-the-radar ceremony, according to Star. However, Ma Spears was one of 20 family members on hand, along with Britney's kid sister, Jamie Lynn.

The magazine says the five-minute ceremony took place at 7:30 p.m. at the "relatively modest" home of the guy who designed all the tuxes for Federline and his groomsmen. The tailor reportedly is the ex-husband of the wedding planning--apparently the couple was trying to keep things as secretive as possible.

Spears, 22, reportedly wore a strapless white gown by Monique L'Huillier, complete with veil and, as appropriate for a pop princess, a tiara. She carried a bouquet of pink and white roses, per Star, while her five bridesmaids and maid of honor wore burgundy dresses and carried red roses.

The newlyweds sealed the deal with platinum bands.

Their first dance was reportedly not to the strains of seemingly appropriate Brit hits like "Baby One More Time" or "Oops!...I Did It Again," but to Journey's "City by the Bay."

According to Star, the Oct. 16 event will now be reworked as a party for the newlyweds' friends.

The marriage was Spears' sorta-second. Her first ring exchange with hometown pal Jason Alexander, then 22, became official on Jan. 2, but fizzled fast. The union was deep-sixed just 55 hours after it began, on Jan. 5. Three months later, she was happily downing Red Bulls and puffing cigarettes with Federline, whom she had met four years earlier and who had once served as a backup dancer to another of her exes, Justin Timberlake.

This is also the first marriage for Federline, 26, who, while a stranger to matrimony, is no stranger to fatherhood. Federline has two children with former Moesha star Shar Jackson, including a son born in July--just a month after Spears and Federline announced their engagement.

I wonder how long this marriage will last? I give it a year at the most.
