DVD Release?? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

With several other hour long "cop" shows on dvd, does anyone know why the heck Hawaii Five-O is not out yet? To me it was much better than Starsky & Hutch, Baretta, or Magnum P.I.
I know that is just my opinion, but the show did run for 12 seasons, so someone liked it, although I will admit the last season wasn't that great. I've heard that CBS owns the rights to the master prints of the show (smells like a "My Three Sons" scenario to me there) and Viacom syndicates the show, but only 175 of them that have been digitally remastered. As far as I know the only channel showing it in the US is the Hallmark Channel with a once weekly airing at 2:00am Eastern Time. Of course plently of their "family" (read mega-depression) shows are on two and three times a day. I get so sick of seeing the same handful of series on ten different channels, it's like there is no variety left anymore.

If that show ran for 12 seasons, than it should be on dvd. Why it isn't, got me.

I've heard from some sources that the reason it's not on DVD is b/c CBS somehow still owns the original master copies for this show and they're not letting anyone release them on DVD.

rumors are strong its comin in feb of 2007,with an announcement sometime in november,not sure if its bein released as a season or best of. And if its goin out as seasons,when the season comes out with "bored,she hung self" be on it
