for some reason today i was thinking about this show it aired in the spring of 1983 on abc and had jimme walker as an army private who was a cross between sargeant bilko and walkers own jj. i think it got on the air because mash was getting ready to end over at cbs and aaron spelling was mr. abc at that time and they apperently thought that one service comedy was as good as another what they forgot was that service comeides had come a long way seince the days of gomer pyle and bilko at ease only lasted a few months and imho wasant even as good as the worst eps. of gomer pyle let alone a classic like mash by the way the co on at ease was played by roger bowen col. blake in the mash movie

I was too young to remember the show but I heard about it on the True Hollywood Story. Now how was Jimmy Walker going to play a sargeant on TV after playing a ******** role for 5 years?-LOL That's why the show only lasted 4 months. |
