although I like all of Norman Lear's themesongs and the themesong to Mary Tyler Moore.
And basically themesongs in general, but those are the best.

I consider the following to be the best in these two categories:

Theme song w/lyrics
I Love Lucy
The Addams Family
Laverne & Shirley

Theme song w/out lyrics
I Dream of Jeannie
The Munsters
Here's Lucy

Overall, my vote goes to I Love Lucy.

Even though there was lyrics.... I would consider ILL to be "w/out lyrics", because the instrumental theme was what most of the world is accustomed to.

I remembered a showed called Secret Service. It had a kickin theme song! The show was like Top Cops. I guessin it was around the early 90's when that show was on.
