Default At what point did you ALMOST stop watching the show?

You've seen the family brought to the brink of good luck and possibility, just to see something happen to put them right back where they started from. So you can imagine my happiness when Thelma was going to marry some football star that could save her and her family from the ruins of ghetto life. I was like, this is IT! They're getting out and now the show is going to take a complete twist and stop focusing on 2 bedroom apartment. They're moving up!

Fast forward to the wedding. Ultra fast forward past Michael's performance ( I HATE this song) and stop at JJ trying to get the money shot from the floor. Keith trips, winces in pain from the twisted leg and I know it's all over.

That was officially my breaking point. I broke away and wouldn't watch then came back. Couldn't stay away.

Anyone else have moments like this where they experience "enough is enough, this show is wack"

But like the true fan you are, you always come back.....

Never, I always stuck with it, even though it was different than the show it started out as, I got into the series from season to season 6.

I was on pins and needles on the last episode when they realize they got an apartment and wologna is in the same complex/building. finally....they are getting OUT of the ghetto. i was waiting on the phone to ring telling them that the place had burned down or something else crazy.

Default Good point where I almost stopped watching

CARL DIXON!!!!!

My goodness. He was totally wrong for Florida, IMO. That was evident in the episode where he called Florida "perfect". that waiter was right when he said "She should keep the steak and sent HIM back!" First he was an atheist, then he's the best guy in the world, then he plays father, and was finished off by lung cancer. And the bad part about it was that Florida left the show on account of him! I hated Carl because he took Florida away from us. I was glad when Florida came back in the final season.

Never, although if I were in my 30s (my current age) in the 70s year 5 might've turned me off with no James or Florida. I watched it whenever I had the chance all through its original run and sat through every episode in syndication in the early 80s.

I was very young but lost interest when the James character died. I did get back into when it was in syndication..Today my childhood friends get together once a month and watch these box sets of old shows we watched when we were kids and laugh at what they passed off as entertainment back then....I mean we would literally sit at the edge of our seats on certain shows. Today it is folly to us.

Never! I mean sure there were moments when the show seemed to take a nosedive, but I stuck with it hoping it would get better.

I stuck with the show also, but you could tell that it was getting stale. Carl, Keith??? I liked Bookman better.
