I'm not sure yet of the reason for the marathon. I expect either two reasons though: 1.) Baywatch's 15th Anniversary 2.) They have number of airplays left for its current Viacom contract and want to air as much as they can before it expires.

Maybe a mixture of both.
They figure, what the hell.... might as well.
I saw something on ET or one of those shows that David Hasselhoff will be in the Spongebob Movie sporting his "[i]Baywatch do"

yes it most certainly is. I love Baywatch(I've watched it since the beginning) and IMO the marathon def. doesn't belong on TVLAND

Regular schedule changes:

Effect. Monday, Nov 8:
Weekdays 2:00PM Hunter (replaces Gunsmoke)

Effective: Monday, November 22
Everynight 3:00AM Cheers (replaces Family Ties)

(Everything else remains the same AS OF NOW.)

So, does that mean FT won't air anymore??

Family Ties expires after November. They will lose rights to it. And as for Spike TV, I don't think they can air a marathon that long, like TV Land. They would have to pre-empt their entire week to air it (like CSI). I'm sure TV Land will probably air the earlier seasons in that marathon, like 48 episodes between episodes 1-96 or so (which is like up to 1994 or 95).

Honestly, I don't mind them showing a marathon of "Baywatch." As long as its like the 1989-1993 episodes, fine. They've aired "Perfect Strangers" and "Roc" and those shows ended in 1993 and 1994, respectively.

I understand completely them wanting to burn off the episodes, and it's going to be a one time thing, since the show's contract with Viacom expires.

It's only one weekend, and honestly, I'd rather watch BW for a whole weekend than "Gunsmoke" and "Bonanza."

I would rather watch BW too than Gunsmoke or Bonanza, but IMO BW still doesn't belong on TVLAND even for a weekend but that's just my opinion.
