Default "And The Flesh Was Made Word"

"don't get up, nothing's wrong with the volume"

walter and maddie anull their marriage.
stan ivar potrays a man wanting dave and maddie to find the woman his business partner is ga ga about. his partner has become unreliable due to his affections. they find out that it is the man's wife, his partner is in love with.
the husband ends up dead, his partner takes the rap for the wife. after the chase, dave gives her advice as he holds her dangling over a bridge. the advice is overheard by maddie. she kisses him when he says he believes what he just said.
they make plans for later.

it ends early. the excuse is the writers strike. the writes sit at desks with their picket signs. they get bert to sing "wooley bulley". even the writers get into the act.

speaking of great writing, these two even have great arguement when they are thinking together. loved the scene in the car in the quiet.
dave was avoiding maddie about talking about themselves.

rating: 6

I love this episode. I think by the end, David and Maddie were as "together" as they ever were in the whole show. The series could have ended there on a positive note (even though we all wanted to see more!) The 5th season after the long writers' strike didn't live up to the promise of this episode. Even though it was frustrating to see David hesitate when he finally had a chance to be with Maddie after all those years, I can't blame him after being hurt so badly by her. It ended so well between them (and with a kiss!) I also loved the little tag to fill time with the real writers on strike in the background and Bert singing. Classic Moonlighting!

Ahh, finally! This is the ONE EPISODE that I have on tape. I've been waiting for this thread.

I really like this one. It goes without saying that we're all glad to see Walter gone and to have Dave and Mads back in the spotlight again, but "And the Flesh Was Made Word" did a lot more for me than that.

As Bobby said, the scene in the car was very clever. Those two can find a way to fight no matter what. I also thought the chase scene was great...there's nothing better than seeing Dave come perilously close to being electrocuted, steamrolled, etc.

The "almost last scene" was adorable. *sigh* Loved how sweet they were to each other. Dave's little smirks just made me melt.

And of course, the big finale featuring the beautifully written "Wooley Bulley" was an added bonus.

I'm not sure if watching this episode so much has made me like it more, but if that's how it works, than I can't wait to see all my favorites again...I'm gonna be so obsessed.

My favorite parts of this episode are all M&D.... the Lamaze class scheduing scene is my favorite scene.....

This episode is quite good in that it has a somewhat different focus than most of the others that went before it....we now get to watch David try to avoid and Maddie try to pursue. Although we know David is doing the avoiding mostly as a defense mechanism to try to protect his heart.... I find Maddie's reactions to him and how she subtly tries to flirt the most interesting part.

Although David's speech to Maddie about the clean slate is a very good moment.... I do think his scene with Terry when he tells her about how he still feels about Maddie and wants to maybe work things out there to be Bruce's best performance in this episode.

The chase scene is ultra-silly but not ultra silly in a bad way like some of the really stupid ones... This one makes me laugh, not cringe. The kiss on the overpass is nice....but the long speeches seem rather out of place for both of them.

P.S. the dancing writers are a hoot! Don't give up your day jobs, gang!
