He asked the writers can they do a show without a mother and father? What the hell did he think they was going to say? NO? They wanted to stay employed-LOL THose writers probably was like-"we will try to do a show without a mother and father even if we fail because we have bills"-LOL

Lear was able to see J.J was nothing without John and Esther to play off of.

and that is very true; JJ was not as funny when he was playing off someone like Michael or Thelma, compared the way he was with his father
