It was nice to include this character in the 2 part episode of James Death. - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

The character-"Ned the Wino". That was good he brought back to show his respect to the Evans Family. I believe that was the last apperance of Ned on Good Times. Still don't know why the Grandfather wasn't brought back for that episode.

It didn't dawn on the writers to have the grandfather show up again until 7 or 8 eps later.
